Bad hands?

I'm quite new to this ...

A few weeks ago I had what the doctor thought was Carpal tunnel syndrome. I'd gone to the doctors with bad wrist pain, numb fingers etc. I was also experiencing pain in my left hand 2nd and 3rd finger joints but didn't tell him that, as I just thought that it was caused by computer mouse use.

Got prescribed some anti-inflams and told to give it a month.

It got better .. my desk at work was assessed and some changes were made, and things were OK for a couple of weeks.

This week, my fingers are sore. Same as before but the joint nearest the finger tip on nearly every finger feels hot, and swollen (although not visible swollen), and my knuckles feel achey and hot. Seems to come and go ... Upon waking I notice that they are stiff, and they get really painful when I get cold (it's winter here)

I play flute, and after about 10-15 mins practise this seems to aggravate particularly my left hand fingers.

I should add I'm 39, female and my Nan (my Mums mum) had bad RA from her mid thirties.

What now ... do I go back to the doctor? What should I ask, and what can I expect?
