remicade question, in a lot of pain

   hello everyone,

 

   I have ulcerative colitis and I started remicade about 2 yrs ago. prior to starting it I was having a lot of joint pain throughout my knees,feet,elbows

ect. I get remicade every 8 week. when the 7th week hits I start to get

all my joint pain back and its pretty servere. where I cant move fast or at times even leave bed. so the remicade helped with my joints as well as my uc.

does anyone else suffer between remicade treatments and what do you

take to ease the pain? I cant take it anymore its really effecting me :-(

I have a disease associated with inflammatory bowel diseases - ankylosing spondylitis. My Crohn's was diagnosed as mild but the joint and back issues I was having had me practically wheelchair bound. Then my GI recognized that I had more than Crohn's going on - possibly enteric arthritis or ankylosing spondylitis [AS]. He and my rheumy consulted and they put me on Remicade every SIX weeks. That is the standard interval period when treating enteric arthritis or AS.

Do you have a rheumatologist? If you do, tell him/her about your increased pain at the 7th week point. If not, get your joint inssues evaluated by one.

Thank you so much Ides. I do have a Rheumatologist I'll talk to her. :-) and i'll meantion the other problems you mentioned about with my GI.

Is anyone on humira and having urinary tract infections? I'm afraid to take the humira because this infection hurts so bad. I just started on it and feel better and hate to hold or delay a dose. I'll call my doctor about it but I wondered if anyone had any experience with this. Or has anyone had an unusually severe UTI with humira?
