RA in lower back?

For quite a while now, I have had a lot of lower back pain. I have RA and at my last doctor visit (July), I was told that it was probably Osetoarthritis as you can not have RA in your lower back. I was kind of stumped because I thought you could get RA in any joint.

Today, I was researching online and found out that some people were diagnosed with RA in their lower back. A couple of months ago I asked to see another doctor in the group because I felt like my doctor wasn't giving me the care I needed. If my research was right, then I am really glad now I have changed doctors.

Has anyone been diagnosed with RA in their lower back?

Hi I Have Severe Back Problems still trying top diagnose a cause I've been told Degenerative Disc Disease and Cervical spondylitis, I Had Many an Argument with my Rheumatologist about it virtually Crying Look at my Back He would Simply say - No You Don't get RA in your Back , I really think they are splitting hairs trying to give it another name, Cos I've come across a Lot of People that have Mystery RA in their Back, So your specialist may be correct but so are you, it seems you cant get RA in your back but if you have RA you get Shocking Problems with your Back Go Figure I don't know anymore
