Hydromorph contin = Not really working anymore, anyone else?

Yeah, my doctor is like that as well classifies me as RA, but it's a combo of sero negative and Inflammatory Ra that I have if ya want to be technical about it...RA doctor treats it the same. Anyways does your RA doctor help with your pain management or do you have a separate pain management doctor, I get my RA meds (mtx) from my RA doctor and my pain meds from a pain management doctor...So if your RA doctor is treating you for pain you might want to consider going into the pain management route.
If you do have a pain management doctor then you do need to make sure to let them know your current pain meds are not helping and you would like to switch to something else if possible...
I'm not well tolerable of medications and take norco and flexeril/flexmid for help with my pain and muscle spasms, however with that being said the norco does interfer with the mtx so I'm careful of the norco on the mtx days...maybe look mtx and see if you have any medication interactions going on, www.drugs.com is the place to look for interactions...
and you might ask your doctor about trying Lyrica to help with the fibro, it's worth a try to see if it can help...I was not tolerant of lyrica as it cause me to throw up and not just once...

weary You need to let your doctor know about this and maybe get these meds scripted to you if they are helping...

I have a doc that thinks I am burned out on my morphine. But, it has been making my life more humane, I have been out of my wheel chair and able to drive to buy food and take care of a blind, destitute ex husband, as well. We have no one else to help us. Now, my doctor wants me to go cold turkey off the morphine, suddenly. Not slowly limiting the doses, but cold turkey. The last time I did that, I ended up in the hospital. The pharmacists don't understand, if the morphine is working for me, why she is changing it. But she's worried about loosing her license, because she messed up with a previous patient, in her old practice, in Phoenix. Now, she's here, giving me grief. My blood pressure has climbed to 185/84, never has it been that high! She gave me the Butrans patch, but it made me sick.
I wonder if that is the new medication you are talking about, wrenchead3? If not, can you please tell me what it is your doctor is trying to put you on? My medicare, the prescription part, just approved a med called Buprenorphine 8 mg. 2x'x/day. But they are under the idea that she is trying to help me with addiction, so they are needing to approve it, every three months. I am afraid, when they think I am not addicted to the morphine, they will cut that off, too, like your insurance, not paying for it, any more.
I am not addicted, my body has been helped with this morphine, I don't know what else will help me, now. I can't go back to the wheel chair, I am going to be 64, plus, I am still caring for the blind ex-husband. I am so very stressed, plus I have a leaky heart valve. I know this sudden withdrawal will hurt my heart, blood pressure too. But she doesn't care. Please tell me the new meds your doctor wanted to put you on. Also, can anyone offer any input for both of us, wrenchead3 and myself, marivan08?
