I am a moderator on Heart and cardiovascular disease

in 1994  a ar hit me  on my bike I severly broke both my wrists and  wore long arm casts from may till sept on both hands finger tips to arm pits then short arms  casts from Sept till Dec and  when the weather changes or I do to much they ache so  much I have  used asprin for a while now on Celebrex 200 miligrams  2ce a day then also use DMSO any thing else that  might help? But they do ache when I type to much or  scrub bathrooms etc... Just wanted to get some ansers next to wearing wrist  bands and pain patches like icy hot etc..

I am  Celebrex200 miligrams twice a day now and  use pain paatches like icy hot nad like yu I can also tell the weather. had a bone density scan more bobe loss in my hip regions r than in my spine region and was told my wrists will alway ache for the way they were severly broke. I will try the camphor oil for now I use icy hot or DMSO. haveyuo've heard of theragestric (sp) I have heard that is good too. I do wear wrist splints in cold weather and gloves too.

I sure do hope yur other moderator is ok.

Hi,

If you are talking about the Theragesic Patches that warm as you wear them, I have used them. They helped me a lot. I used them for back pain, but they do make the different sizes for different areas of the body. It is like having a heating pad on, that you can go everywhere with. I think they are quite costly, but hey, they help.

Hello Heidi,

If warmth makes your hands and wrist feel better, try hot parafin treatments/ You can also wet a hand towel and nuke it, being very care ful not to overheat it and wrap your hands in that. I like to use tiger balm and hot moist towels. Moist heat just seem to go deeper. Hugs, Susie

Susie, Have you used the parafin wax tx? If so would you mind telling us a little about it and success of pain control. I am assuming you are speaking of OTC tx.
