Humira working

Just wanted to let everybody know I took my 2nd Humeria shot Tuesday.  Gave it to myself no problem.  Ducky, just to let you know my rheumy told me on average it takes 4 weeks to see improvement but I think I am seeing a difference already.  I don't seem to be quite as tired as I was and I did notice my hands were starting to get stiff and swell some a day or two before shot #2.  So I am hoping the improvement just keeps continuing.  Hope everyone is doing better today.

Hey Ducky,
Thanks for asking. My next shot of Humira is Friday (every 10 days). I tell ya, a real miracle has to happen. I am putting a lot on the line depending on this drug to work. Still very weak, painful joints and pretty much can't do anything I want....mostly resting....lucky to shower. Not in a happy place right now. Probably the WORST I've ever been and I am angry about it. Doing all I can on my part. It's very hard now. It's effecting my relationship with Joe too which makes me quite sad. I'm holding him back. I'm not very secure with myself because the last 5 weeks have been disastrous. I can tell he's unhappy and maybe even depressed & I feel badly having him watch me not feel well. So this is a rough patch. :(
On this horrible med that gives me such bad abdominal pain it's enough to keel over....and it's suppose to HELP me?? I sure wish I had some good news! mmmmm....let's see? Neil Diamond concert was nice, although I was hurtin'. And I just recieved my grades from the 2 courses I took (well....I only attended 4 out of 12 classes) and got a B+ and a B-. I was surprised I even got that!
Hows the hubby? and kids?? oh, I got new pics!! I'll send em. From this weekend at Monmouth park racetrack. Joe got 2 new horses and they look promising. He also won $184 on a bet!! wish it was me!

Erin - do you think that maybe the Humira and Pentasa aren't agreeing?  Therefore you're not seeing significant improvement like most?  I don't know, I'm no where near a dr, but just thought I would give that a stab.  What has your dr. say about all this?  I don't think you are hold Joe back from anything, it's easy to feel that way, but he knew of your condition when you first got together, so it's not like this should be a surprise to him!  He's hung in there, I think what he is probably feeling is helpless, 'cause he doesn't like seeing you in pain and he wants to help, but knows there is very little he can do, other than be there for you, and he has been and still is.  You've got a good man, hang on to him girl, don't let this illness doubt what you two share.

Kids and hubby are good, my son had his tonsils/adnoids removed yesterday and we are battling that, he can't keep his meds down..  I posted a thread about it, any suggestions?  My husband is still in his cast from his surgery, he's got til Sept 6th before he gets that off... poor guy...  but my 2 daughters are well, well for the most part!  The younger of the 2 has bad allergies and the oldest, well, thinks she is 38 and she can talk to her Mommy any way she wants.... oh is she WAY off!

Keep a chin up girl,  I know it's hard, but you can do it!  I know you can, you just like everyone on this forum is a lot stronger than you give yourself credit for.  It is the illness trying to get you down...
