Hello All, I have several questions for you. I greatly appreciate any advice, comments, or experiences that you've had that you can provide.
1) Do any of you still fight being tired and fatigue while on plaquenil? If so, what do you do to combat this? I usually feel good 2-3 days in a row and then I'm exhausted to the point where I end up taking a sick day and sleeping until about
2 or 3 in the afternoon and then going back to bed at 9 or 10 pm and sleeping until 5:30 am. Am I the only one that does this, because my rheumy seems to act like I should be fine.
2) Does anyone deal with dizziness? If so, have you been given a reason why from you dr.? How do you combat this issue? Specific vitamin, med, food, etc?
3) Does anyone deal with major forgetfullness, short term memory issues? If so, have you been given a reason why from you dr.? Again, how do you combat this issue? Specific vitamin, med, food, etc?
I've always been forgetful but recently it has been a lot worse. Usually if I forget something I will remember it as soon as someone starts talking about
it and something jogs my memory. Not lately. And one day I was driving home from somewhere that we frequent often and hit the brakes and stopped in the road to look around and figure out where I was because I thought I missed my road. I'm glad no one was with me because they would have thought I was completely nuts. I live in a very small town and it's impossible to get lost in it. This experience scares the heck out of me!
4) Final question. Has anyone experienced, I guess you would call them tremors? If so, have you been given a reason why from you dr.? about
a year and a half ago once in a while my pinky on my left hand would tremor for a second or two and hit the "q", "a" and "z" on the keyboard a few extra times. Then about
6-8 months ago my thumb on the same hand started doing it once in a while. Always just for a few seconds at a time. Well, about
a month ago the same thumb did it but it last for almost 30 minutes. If I stared at it and focused really hard I could make it stop, but as soon as I looked away and started doing something else it would go right back at it. I made an appointment to see a neurologist but don't see him until October 16th. A couple days later the thumb on my right had did it. Only for a few seconds. That was the first and only time so far that my right hand has been involved; however, I have a feeling it will happen again. Over about
the last week I feel like I'm jittery alot. It comes and goes. I usually feel like this when I'm moving around and doing things. Sometimes you can actually see my hands shaking and sometimes you can't. I'm a little concerned that there is something neurological going on. Does that even go along with RA? I thought it was more lupus oriented. Of course I've not been given a diagnosis yet but it is narrowed down to RA, Lupus, Scleroderma and Ankylosing Spondylitis. My gut feeling is it's one or both of RA and/or Lupus. That's just my gut feeling though.
Again, thank you in advance for any advice, comments on your experiences, etc.
Sincerely,
Jen
