(No Subject)

Okay my name is kat and I just got diagnosed with arthritis and my doctor is sending me to get checked for rheumatoid arthritis, which runs heavily in my family. I have bipolar disorder as well. I am taking abilify currently and I have experienced severe weight gain, but I was reading where psychiatrists also prescribe tramadol for bipolar/schizophrenia. I was wondering if anyone has heard anything about if doctors prescribe abilify and tramadol together as a combination for my mental illness or if tramadol could replace abilify and also work as a pain reliever. Ok to explain I have tried every anti psychotic under the sun and I don't usually ever have weight problems since taking them, but basically I have weight issues on all of the other anti psychotics and it would be great news if I only had to see a psychiatrist and it solve my weight issue, pain issue, and mental issue, but I am just wondering if they would keep me on abilify or try only tramadol. Thanks well I got a for sure diagnosis for arthritis the doctor basically is referring me to go for testing to see if I have RA? My Grandmother, both my aunts and my mother all under my mom's side of the family have it. I don't know much about RA just basically that it's painful. I don't know if it progresses or what. I've had muscle aches on and off for at least a year I just thought it was arthritis and I could deal with it, but it has slowly progressed to where I finally went to the doctor. If you have any knowledge of what could happen does it progress, is there a cure, can you stop it from progressing I would love to hear it. Thanks, katrina

It is great you are educating yourself. How old are you? There are a lot of treatment options out there these days, so let us know what the rheumatologist says.
