How would I know if I had RA

I found out I have Arthritis in both my knees, no wonder the pain in my knees were awful... now I know why. I wonder if I have rheumatoid arthritis? I mean all my joints are painful I don't have the swelling or redness just the pain.I know alot of my pain if from Fibro. any thoughts, will just blood test show RA? Thanks all :-)

Fibromyaligia, dx Oct 2004 but we are sure I have had this for about 4-5 yrs maybe longer.
Chronic fatigue Syndrome dx 1995
Anxiety/Panic attacks dx 1990
M.S. dx June 29th 2005
Anemia dx Jan 2005
Depression..lets just for  a while now.

Meds: Amitriptyline
Lorazepam
Celexa
Ferrous Glouconate
Ibuprofen 600mg
and soon to start on
Rebif or Avenox

There are some blood tests that show various things, however they do not always show positive even if you have the disease. If you look down the posts here, there is one called "do you know what these blood tests are..." or something very similar to that. Erin has written a response discussing the various tests and what they can show when checking for RA.

You don't have to have the extreme swelling and redness to have arthritis. I'm sorry to hear you are dealing with so much, I wish you the best in getting relief.

I just had blood work done i have o arthritis bone to bone in knee but didn't show up in blood work DEB

Maybe the Dr would do an MRI & see whats going on inside the knees.My hubby had one knee replaced In Feb.the other knee is bad too but so far he hasn't had any problems with it.
