I've had Sacroiliitis for 6 months now. The rheumatoid specialist has done all the usual tests and says he can't find anything else going on. However I can't shift this. When it first came on it was very severe and I had no idea what was going on. They gave me Naproxen and muscle relaxers while they tried to diagnose it. Then I started seeing a physio. Slowly things improved a little but after 4 months it was still bad enough that I needed a crutch to walk. So he gave me the steroid injection into the joint. This worked for about
a month, and I was really pleased. The physio started to slowly increase my exercises. And then it came back. Now my rheumatologist is saying he's reluctant to give me another injection, and his parting advice was to rest and take pain killers. That advice is just not cutting it for me! If I rest almost completely it's not too bad, but I only need to do something small for it to flare up again. To be honest, I can't really live like this. Has anyone got any advice for anything I can try? Diet, nutrition, exercise, vitamins, medication - anything that helps?! Is acupuncture worth a go? It's expensive so I'm not up for trying a full course unless it might help. I get married in 4 months time. I am desperate to at least be able to manage this by then, even if a cure is out of the question. Anyone please?
