Dear All,

My Grand mother age 80 years suffering from mild rheumatoid arthritis , osteoporosis. from last 1 year

She is taking below medicine from last 8 months

Syp Elixir Neogadine 1-0-0
TRICINOD 10/6.25MG 1-0-0
Vi-Fi 1-0-0
Syp Dexorange 0-1-0
HCQS 200 MG 0-1-0
Syp Digiplex 0-1-0
Protinex 0-1-0
Threptin Diskettes 0-0-1
Inj Terifrac 1

Pain killers
Pracimol 650 1-0-1
Gabapin 50 MG 0-0-1

Blood reports -
RA Factor - 217
ESR - 90

She has high knee pain. trobule in getting sleep in night. Low appetite. She cant walk on his on.

Can any please help me here to recover her.

I am sorry to hear about your Grand Mother's pain she is suffering with. Many people have found relief with the advice given above by eat2bwell, however there are many who have seen little to no results of which I am one. I do avoid certain foods however, they are not the cause of my RA they simply exacerbate it.

RA is a very complex disease. If it were as simple as eat a vegan diet there would be no Rheumatologists because common knowledge would prevail and people would be cured.

You may want to go with your Grand Mother to her appointments and ask your Doctor what else can be done or if there are alternate treatments available. Many of the treatments for RA can take months to make a difference before someone sees relief unfortunately. This can be the same with dietary changes. They too can take many months to fully make a difference. I would recommend given her age that whatever you do you speak with your Doctor beforehand. If her Doctor is not someone you feel you can trust with her care you may want to find someone else who you are comfortable with and can trust.

I hope that she begins to have some relief and it is very sweet of you to care enough to spend some time researching on her behalf.

Hi I Total Agree with Don, Osteoarthritis is mainly caused by wear and tear on the joints and Rheumatoid Arthritis is an Auto Immune Disease changing diet while it may make you Healthier it is far too a simplistic view to think it will cure or for that matter is the cause of your illness and you Must be careful in eliminating certain food groups eg; going totally vegan- if you do not introduce the right foods or supplement's you can end up nutrient deficient and cause yourself more problems than you had before.

I would say go with your Grand Mother to her appointments and take a note book with you where you have written down any questions you have thought of .
one piece of advice that was given to me by my Doctor when I was First Diagnosed was: Beware of people offering magic cures this is a Long journey and there are a lot of people that will happily take your money so do your homework.
