welcome ShannyZ,
well, i think the best thing you can hear from me is that i was working and in school working on a Med/Surg unit (in nursing as well) for over a year and a half while on Enbrel and prednisone.
i didn't catch a thing! which is reassuring for anyone working with the sick while on TNF meds. i was very careful & BIG TIME handwashing, made sure i got a lot of sleep and i managed to finish up the year.
the Enbrel made a big difference in my lower back pain from AS, and the joint pain from RA. but after that year on it...i sort of plataeud and got worse (then again, the RA i have was very out of control and went untreated for a long time).
i can not wait to get well enough to work again. i never thought i would say,"i miss the smell of iodine in the morning".
when do you start?
i truly wish you well & i understand completely where you're coming from.
the best to you!
ps....how many days can you work now? are you per diem? is the RA really interfering with your performance @ work? ( i had to crawl home in tears towards the end) standing and my legs/knees were the issues that effected me most while at the hospital.
sincerely,
erin
