yes there is a new medication for RLS! if you can get a hold of it...try it! i believe it just calms the nerves in the lower extremities. i believe it works in the same matter as an anticonvulsant does.
in the meantime, a muscle relaxer could possiby help a little.
what i would try as well is Targeted Muscle Contraction. kind of like meditation but you do it in bed. you tighten or flex your muscles starting in your feet, then legs, then buttocks, then abs, neck, arms hands and work yourself down. with deep breathing some feel a sinking sensation and then relaxation. kinda like a biofeedback exercise to get the nerves calm in the leg fibers.
