Hello, everyone.  I love the advice I get here and the support from everyone. I feel like I have my own little family dealing with all that I have to.Anyways my doc. wont give me any other drugs so does any one get real bad pains in their joints????? Mine are the knees, and my shoulder, and elbows.  the pain comes and goes. I am worse shape than my 90 yr old ladies I take care of.lol

I haven't had any major flares in awhile, so I almost forget what they are like, but for me baths and hottubs always provide the best relief. My family doctor gives me percocet when I want it, but I find I still have pain, I just don't care about it on account of being all buzzed. Good luck.

Katina,

What exactly do you take now?  For bad joint pain, NSAIDs and prednisone really help the throbbing pains.

So why is you doc not RXing anything?

 Hello, I take methtrexate and relefan,thats it. Rhuemy dont want me taking anything else no advi,tylenol or any herbal supplements. It dont make sense to me so I need a different doc probable.

It doesn't make sense to me either! For starters, how can he tell you NOT to buy OTC Tylenol or Advil?
I'm sorry, but you've RA correct? I'm forgetting diagnoses'!
It sounds like you are extremely dissatisfied w/ the doc & I agree that you're doing the right thing in finding a new one.
Good thing is that YOU ARE recieving some proper treatment w/ MTX & Relefan.
But if you are having very bad joint pain...there needs to be some RX intervention if rest/ice/heat is not working.
Can you take Advil or Tylenol or do they bother your stomach?
Do you have a good rapport with the rheummy? HAve you spoken to him about your unhappiness with treatment?

Hi Erin, My Rhuemy says no to othe rxs because of the methtrexate he dont want to ix anything with it. The Relefan is why no OTC'S there is something in it so he said no. And the herbal stuff not sure why he said that so I have not taken anything else.A friend of mine gave me some cream from mexico I have no idea what it is called but it works better than some of the other creams I have tried. Thanks for the inpu and the help..

hi i am on mtx and i was told no motrin or advil but i could do tylenol? how about others on mtx? are you able to have this or no otc?
