Yalinda and all......I had to think long and hard about
this subject before I replied (drama background music please, lol). I have been hospitalized so many times in the last 3 years for heart disease, and it has had it's toll on my wife. My constant complaining, the "new world" I had entered wasn't pretty, and she was dragged into it, due to destiny I guess. Love life lousy due to meds....that really hurts a man because he feels for his wife. He wants his wife to have a fully contented,
complete life.
So, I have mentioned to her more than once, that if she wanted to part with me and my baggage, I would more than understand. Why should my misfortune cause her misery? I know, in sickness and in health......married 34 years here.
She had to give me 14 shots of Lovenox (heparin) in my belly around the navel, in March. 2 a day to prevent blood clots after the roto procedure. I was supposed to do it, but could not. She almost fainted a few times. My stomach looked like a purple dartboard. Blood seeped out and ruined the bed sheets. The medicine feels like venom for about 15 minutes. This is the reality of taking care of a spouse who is sick.
Maybe the lady with RA was much less inhibited due to the alcohol and pain meds, but I do understand where she was coming from.
This is a depressing subject maybe, but well worth discussion, don't you guys think? But I feel better after having had a chance to discuss it :) So thank you Yalinda and I am so glad that you have a good man and that I have a good woman :)
