Heylo friends and neighbours! Just curious if anyone here has ever been to a practitioner of whatever that word is that I'm trying to spell. My girlfriend got me a gift certificate for an appointment with a Reiki healer and I was curious if I should expect anything other than accepting the fact that my girlfriend throws money away.

Dave........Keep an open mind Ohmmmmmmm.......I did try Rieki (I think you spelled it right). I have to say It did feel relaxing, in the warm compress kind of way. Most Rieki practioners don't really touch you. Remember when you were a kid and you would push your hands close together and feel the cushion of air between them. They work in that warm tempature zone. Who is to say if it works. The act of laying on of hands for healing is as old a mankind. It is a bit touchy feely, hairy armpit though. Enjoy it and be glad your Girlfriend cares enough to try and help............Harley Diva

I have also tried Reiki and I found it very relaxing and I think as Harley Diva does
Give it a shot and be thankful G/F cares about you enough to try to help

welcome dave, so it is the girlfriend keeping you from us here! busy guy ......

i have a friend - of the manly type- he does reiki and did it on me once kinda as a quick demo. never touched me only felt energy fields and then swipped them kinda away..... my hubbies cousin does it also but she lives in jersey and i dont even know if she still practices. go on the web you'll get tons of info on it as i looked into it this past summer. i just am not the alternative kind of a gal. i am old fashion stick in the mudd type hehehehehe now mudd bath might feel warm and relaxing???????

keep us posted we miss you. i hope this girl is the one since she has taken you away from us hehehehehe lata yalinda

Howdy people! I miss ye's too. Just been busy, We had thanksgiving in october, and since then there's somebody's birthday every other day. Mine was on the 16th, hence the Reiki thing. Haven't made an appointment yet, but when i do, I'll be sure to let everyone know how it goes and also try to sell something at the same time. That's the rule for alternative stuf isn't it?

Dave, we are a bit cynical, aren't we?  I have heard of this energy healing, but didn't know it was called Reiki?  Like Yalinda, I'm not much of an alternative kind of gal, but if it can't hurt (that includes financially) or if I'm at my wit's end, I would try it.  NIH does have an alternative medicine link off their website somewhere.  Energy healing is one of them--I forgot what it was called, though.  It's not called Reiki, but it sounds like the same kind of thing.  Please let us know how it goes.  And I am dying to buy something as well.

hi Dave! missed you!  i have a good Reiki tale.

so when i was like friggin' dyin' & couldn't walk, my stupid a** excuse for a father called me & preached this "heal thyself" CRAP  mad mad ...and he insisted i see this woman who "cured" his girlfriend of sciatica & leg pain (which turned out to be bone cancer) {nice eh? eyes couldn't have splurged for an xray?}

okay, anyway....it was very expensive, but i didn't have to pay for it.  the Reiki Master i had was wonderful, she was a nurse and went to Harvard Medical School for her Reiki liscensing...and she was foreign so that made her cute.

it's a very groovy experience!  :-) do it!  even if it does nothing except give ya the goosebumps...if it's a gift? go for it...and if you can afford it?  go back! think of it along the lines of a spa kinda.

i got the "fluffing" away of illness (uh, okay  eyes ) i have EXCELLENT energy fields & my aura is fantastico!  yeah LOL.  there's a ringing of a little bell at the end of  a certain "guided imagery" thing that is really spooky because when she rang the bell & moved it over the length of my body?....you could kinda like feel the vibrations of the bell & it was super cool.

i got a brain stimulation thing for the seizures. she tool this tool & worked on my big toe for like half hour, it hurt. all i got out of that was a sore toe.

and then after 8 sessions & not much improvement...i stopped.

got a cat instead.

the cat worked better.

SO HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!
