Hi Everyone!!!! I got my first shot of Embrel today. It wasn't that bad but I was a little nervous. I have never stuck myself with anything so I was shaking a bit when I was holding the needle. The nurse I had was very helpfull which I appriciated greatly. I hope everyone had a happy neww year!!! And I wish all of you well!!!

As a general question, did you use the Sure Click shots?
If you are not aware, you can get Enbrel this way by request and it is much easier to inject yourself. The needle is smaller, so less painful as well.

I got the pre-filled syringes. It wasn't painfull to stick myself but it was alittle painfull when the medicine went in. I won't mind as long as it works. I am showing bone erosions in my right wrist and hand. So I will definetely be thankfull if this medicine works for me.

The SureClick shots are prefilled as well, but make the process easier and less painful, at least for me.
They are different from the standard pre-filled, but I don't think any different in cost. You might want to ask your Doc. about them.

I hope you have luck with the Enbrel.  I started taking it about 3 months ago and it is helping alot.  As for the pain when the medicine goes in.  If you let it sit out for 30-45 minutes, the shot doesn't hurt hardly at all.  My doc said not to let it sit out for more than an hour. 

Hang in there, it gets easier.
