Hey everyone.....

 

The past couple of days, have been total hell for me...First I started out with this itchy rash on my left side of my face, then the next day i have this dry patch of skin on the same area....at the same time, my cheeks, chin, forehead feel like im burning on the inside out....and my cheeks & chin are soo red, I dont even need any make up...to top it off, I cant even wear any foundation beucase im afraid of an interaction worse than what i already have.... mad

Last night I went to bed pretty damm early, and overslept, woke up and still feel like I can sleep another 10 hrs...My Energy is really low, and I feel soo damm overwhelmed at work, almost like im confused even though i know how to do my job...Plus I was 2 hrs later today, beucase of all the crap my body is putting me thru sad

 

Maybe the meds I take, are making me have a drug induced lupus like flare...I dunno anymore...even my dam ears are burning, but my cheeks feel the worse....on top of all that, im also having the joint and swollen thing going on.......WHAT DID I DO IN MY PAST LIFE TO DESERVE THIS????....LOL eyes

 

sorry just venting again...I guess its hard to stay positive even though I know that the better days are sure to come.....Thanks 4 listening. yeah

Suspected:early Lupus...

 

Meds i take are:sulfasalizine, Enbrel, Plaquenil, Diflinsal, Vicondins...Colchicines..Lunasta when I cant sleep and Prevacid to neutralize all the crap I take...LOL

 

plus im supposed to take, folic acid, vitamin b complex, Childrens tyelonol,

hey Babz,

i'm so sorry.  it's crazy uncomfortable isn't it?  just recently (dec.20th through january 2nd) when i was sick with a bad virus, my face went beserk too.

from my ears across my cheecks across my nose, like a mask. IT FELT LIKE A BAD SUNBURN!  it was very hot to touch, and all day long it just felt like it was scorched.

the skin was pink to red, the worst spots were on the apples of my cheecksand right under my eyes...even my eyeballs felt hot.

i did have a fever too, so if that had anything to do with it i dunno.

i know that the bathroom lighting made it burn worse, and also after i showered, it would turn redder & burn more.

also, i developed raised bumps, like acne but not.  sorta looked like rosacia.

was kinda itchy too.

i feel it's an autoimmune thang.  probably a freak thing from having an AI disease...that or you were having an allergic reaction to something perhaps???

well hon, even though i have no real answers...just wanted you to know that i went through similar issues recently too.

Well it definately sound like a reaction to something. When I was taking sulfasalazine for 3 weeks I developed very ithcy red scaly, horrible looking patches on my neck, the doc called it classic case of neurodermitis. They cleared up instalntly after i stoped taking the darn drug. So, yrs may be a virus, reaction to some drug, alergy to something that you may even not know about, or it  may be seborrhea, which is a common skin condition for many people, but gets worsen and visible, only when proper environent factors take place. However consult with a dermatologist about this.

Hey Erin K, Yea i had raised bumps on it too...I hope you are feeling better these days....as for me, today wasnt too bad, my cheeks didnt feel like an inferno, but when my joints started to hurt, my cheeks got red....soo I guess its part of the flare up...I just couldnt believe it felt like a sunburn in the middle of the winter....LOL

The reason my Rhuematogist has suspected possilbe/early lupus, is beucase of my symptoms that I have...Even though RA & Lupus are very similar symptoms wise, and very different in disease wise...just base on what ive told him...LIke hair loss, Lethargic, plus with all the meds I take, I still have flares...but atleast my flares are more controlled compared to how i was a year ago....PLus I have Raynauds Phemonon, which I guess is also a Red flag for possible Lupus, beucase Raynauds disease is usually a secondary disease to an ongoing primary disease....

Basically i feel like a freak of nature at times...LOL but i guess things happened for a reason, soo on that note im going to go lay down, I hope everyone has a good weekend....

Babz,

did they find out why you got EN? I had it for nearly a year and that stuff it awful. I don't know very many people who have ever had it. Good luck on your quest for a diagnosis. It's a long haul.

Hey Kanani,

 

well My rhuemy thinks that the reason I may have "EN"-Erthema Nodosum, is beucase it is possible to have a Delayed reaction from medications like Birth Control Pills....He feels that even though I didnt have EN when I was on BirthControl, but it came after it, after like 2 years or so, My Dr said its always possible for the human body to react to certain meds even if ur not on them any more...

 

Personally, I cant imagine that being the case, but all I want is to get rid of En...its bad enough im in pain most of the time, and that EN Crap makes u feel alot worse, plus I really hate the way my legs looks, always looks like someone put a Bat to my legs and beat me with it, Nasty Bruises...plus sometimes it flares and its also gets itchy....

 

So tell me please, how did your Erethema Nodosum go away? and when did it start...

Hey Babz,

My EN started out of the blue one year in september. My rhuemy and dermy said it was from my birth control too but my gyno said I was his first patient in his 25 years of practice then. My gyno believes the hormones most likely played a role in flaring up the EN but that there was an underlying autoimmune disease.

At the time this was all going on I had a severe butterfly rash for over a year (brought on by snow skiing for 2 days) awful joint pain and fatigue that I just couldn't fight no matter how much I slept. My dermy did a skin biopsy which was positive for connective tissue disease but my ANA was negative at the time. I just had a rhuematoid factor done and it is negative also.

Sometimes my joint pain flares so bad that it feels like broken glass in between them and it's always on both sides. Thank goodness I'm no longer fighting EN. I would crawl to get from point A to point B because I had so many lumps from the arches of my feet to my knees. That was just horrible, I feel for you. The docs just kept putting me on pred till the EN went away, I was on that stuff and on high doses off and on for 4 years, I will NEVER take it again, unless it will save my life or something.

Dear Kanani,

Wow, Predisone is tough, beucase i know quite a few people on that medication, and its hard, beucase the medicine works, but the downfalls are that your body gets addicted to it plus, it makes ya hungry all the damm time...LOL

One day I had chinese food, had an allergic reaction skull   Ive never thought a person could swell up so fast, and let me tell you, I looked like a damm monster confused ..LOL so when I went to the Er, the doctors gave a me few shots, then told me to take Predisone for like a week, and even though it made me feel better,I didnt like the fact that i was always hungry....I can laugh about it now smurf   but i completely understand & sympathize with you, I can't even imagine being on Pred, for longer than a week....

I hope you are better these days, atleast tomorrow is Friday....YAY, All I want to do is come home from work, soak my feet, drink a Glass of wine, or maybe a beer yeah ..and just relax, and im supposed to hang out /sum coworkers to say our final goodbyes, and I really want to go, but honestly I just feel dead to the world, and just need too rest....

Its just hard sometimes, trying to manage a normal life, when ur trying to fight yourself and your mind to become healthy & happy...but in reality ya know you just feel like total SH&t...pardon my french...

I dunno but something has to give...hopefully one day, they will invent a vaccine for autoimmune Disease's, and when that time comes, I hope its soon, I will be in the front line....LOL.

Babz,

 

I'm so sorry you're having so much trouble these days.  That rash you had on your face, did your doctor do a biopsy of it?  It could be discoid lupus.  I really think, after reading about all your symptoms and stuff that you need to get serious about a possible lupus diagnosis.  Your bruised legs is another indicator of lupus.  Easy bruising is one of the most common lupus symptoms.

 

Please get another opinion on this Babz.  I'm concerned for you.....

well Thanks for the concerned, well the drs didnt do a biopsy on my face, beucasue my Rash on my face went away...Thank god for that beucase it really felt like it was burning...

 

I know we all will have better days as well as bad days, but why does that bad days seem longer than the good days....LOL

 

my dr told me to do some blood work, and my stupid insurance will not pay for the blood work unless I go to a diagnostic center...BLAH BLAH BLAH...u know I hate having Local 1199 as insurance sometimes, beucase sometimes when im flaring up like i have been, the last thing i need to do is be on the hunt for a place to do my blood work, when all i want to do, is sleep and rest and not be bothered..BUt what ever, I guess no matter what I have to do these blood work...soo i guess I should just be happy that i have health insurance....

Hey Babz,

 

Next time you get that rash, have someone take a picture of it.  That way, you have some proof to show a doctor if it disappears before your appointment!

 

I totally know what you mean.  These bad days seem to be twice as long as a good one!! (sigh)

Dear Ginny,
Yea def, the next time I do get a rash, im going to take a pic, beucase everytime I make an appt, the rash goes away and then my dr never see's it....LOL

I see from all the diagnosis that you have, it must be hard for you to go thru the day to day, So tell me how do you manage with everything going on? Do u have family that helps you out on your bad days?

Well I just wanted to also say thank you again, for all the helpful support & advice you and everyone has given me...it really does mean alot....
