Well, this 'stuff' had moved into my chest and I've been hacking like a bronchitis patient....but the upper stuff is now clogging the ears. UGH! When will it end!!! The rashes are itching tonight! Where's my cortizone!?

tongue  Saw sooo many old friends at the wedding last night and all my hard work (help) paid off.  Don't you love it when everything comes off without a hitch.  I left the reception when the drinking started getting real heavy.  By that time my feet were killing me and I don't do very well with peeps running into me.  More like a body slam when young folks have had a few too many.  Have to protect the old gal.  My daughter and her hubby came and brought the baby.  She stays home to raise him and he doesn't want to have anything to do with me or anyone else.  Wants his mamma.  He started crying when I held him.  I told him it was ok.  "His Papa does the same thing when he wakes up and sees me".lol 

Erin Girl, you brighten up my day.  Your are so funny.  Hope you slept again last night.

Happy Father's Day to all the dads.  Or should I say....The Pappa Bears.

hi everyone  long time no post, at least it seems.......

 

happy belated fathers day.  tongue

 

been kicked off this computer by rug rats!!!!  sims junkies!

 

havent been swimming should go know but had a long hard day at work no one around as they r all at a guitar festival so i think i will join goldie locks and find a bed to nap in!  i got sunburn yesterday without trying so i am reluctant to go out in the hot sun!  go figure i wait all year for a nice day and then too hot i stay inside?!  what a loser i know!  maybe around 8ish ill head out? 

 

i get my mri results friday and am anxious to confirm or no the frozen shoulder thingy.  otherwise life is hectic and status quo.  my eldest graduates this week so i more than likely will be in tears this weekend wondering where the time has gone..........

 

well i miss all  of you and will catch up and read a bit but heres wishing you all hugs and happiness in everything you do...... and dont forget to P A R T Y!

hmmm...update: small bowel obstruction is less obstructed, tongue , not quite roto-rutered completely but getting there.

can eat semi-solid a bit.  hoorah.

 

is it just me or does anyone else stink to high he** when on prednisone? eyes

now shut up...quit laughin it ain't funny.

i swear...scrub-a-dub-dub in the shower, all gussied up & smellin' nice...and bingo-bango 4 hours later i'm  a freakin' truck driver!!  what gives?!?!

 

oh, here's the highlite of my last 2 weeks...i got out tonite! yeah sat for my neice's softball game (she's 10).

i got hit on by 9 year old.  eyes eyes eyes i don't know what to make of that.  am i a cougar now?!?! confused confused hmmmm???  worse part is i said, "Oh wow THANKS"  duh. LOL.

That brings back memories.....I remember in my younger and MUCH thinner days.....I was about 25 or 26......hubby and I went to a beach party and the 12 and 15 year old children of hubby's friend and his families invited me to come play with them thinking I was about the same age.....now I'm just glad when they card me because I look like I MIGHT be under 30! And yes, I hung out with the youngens' and ate ho-hos with them by the fire! It was fun. tongue

Erin, sorry things are still bad, but happy there is some improvement. I hope it continues to improve.

I stink all the time! Don't think it's the arava or plaquenil....most likely my weight and liver issues. sad Now that it's hot out....beware! It's pretty disgusting.

I'm going thru a down cycle again.....not good. Still congested w/sore throat, but there IS some improvement finally....<sigh> I'm sick of being depressed and stressed mentally and physically.

i was thinking liver too...as for the stanky part.

it's weird...like, the day of remicade?  jeezaloo come 8pm you really can smell some sort of funky chemical smell coming from the skin. confused

well, whatever.

 

i feel like grandma warmed over...ouch.  my outing proved too much 4 lil' ol me tonite.

Wow guys, thanks, something else to look forward to....we get to stink too...can't wait!!!! Actually, at least we'll all be in good company.
Sorry you are both still feeling bad...Camama , you've been sick for such a long time!!  Is is normal for things to hang on like this with the AI stuff? .I think I caught your sinus thing,( a computer virus perhaps? that was bad, I know) started sneezing and sore throat yesterday. No fun, especially since I leave tomorrow for a trip to Memphis. Doc is sending along a z-pack with me just in case. Used to take extra C and echinachea when this stuff started, but doc says not to.
Was wondering, has anyone else been to Memphis ? Other than Graceland and Beal Street, not sure what is around there. The boys want to go to the casinos and celebrate their birthdays.
Been wondering about Bear, too, hope all is well with him, miss his musings, used to seeing his daily posts.

Camama..I'm so sorry you are still not well and feeling miserable :( At some point it HAS to get better right? I have never heard of something hanging on this long but since it is AI who knows, these things are crazy.

Erin..I am reading some of the other symptoms and I must say they are rather unpleasant! when you say facial hair..is this caused by the prednisone you are taking? or is it just due to the whole AI? because I have lots of that and I use products if you know what I mean to keep it under control, and I am not on prednisone, so I always chalked it up to some kind of hormonal issue. Thankfully, I am light haired so it doesn't show up to much, but when I read that I thought that is me...is that what causes it? I am making Sally Hansen rich!

Apsley calling, Apsley calling, rumours of my demise are somewhat premaature. Have been in Liverool since Saturday and have only just returned home. I took a puter with me but it seems that the hotel I was staying in - cheapo cheapo productions proudly prpesent the Travelodge - wass a hotspot desert, not ma bleep was to be found and so I couldn't post from there. Good to hear everybody missed me and were still sick - no miracle cures then? - and that good moanin was still to be found on the thread. Liveerpool was fine - spent Monday through today on outings with volunteers and older people who needed taking out for a party or a picnic or lunch in a posh Hotel [Mon]. The evenings were spent visiting old haunts with a cousin - yes Yally she really is a cousin!!!! - AND SEEING A FEW OLD MATES. Because I was the one who left Liverpool in 73 it was important that I keep anchor there and the closest friends I have are nearly all of them still in Liverpool. yeah

 

I really do wish we could post picttures on  this thread thing so I can share my home city with you all - Liverpool is the European city of culture next year [andthey will beat you all up if you disagree] but the city is changing dramatically. I went to the dock area where my father's family and other close relatives  all grew up. If anybody remembers the photographs of bob dylan taken with a group of street urchins in a deserted city street scape - that was said Dublin Street in Liverpool's dockland and my cousin was one of the kids in the photos with his bobship. Cool or what. Hey Erin I'll mail you what I hahve got so you know whichones I mean. Once you all see them you will know - they're really famous pictures taken by Barry Fenstein. Enough already. nono

What's with all this stinking stuff? Liek armpit stink or bums rush stink? A tip Erin for unblocking the arts other beers cannot reach. Because Itake opiates for pain relief, I get constipated big style and  I clear it by eating a hole bag of dried apricots but you've got to be near the can after an hour and you definately cannot leave the house for a few hours.

 

Has the bottom fallen out of your  world? eat apricots and watch the world fall out of your bottom!! They really do work unless you got something inorganic going on down there.

 

What are we talking about here? cool

 

Anyway I thought I would touch base before I hit the hay and say its good to be back and if anybody wants pics of Liverpool send me a mail and I will return post them.

erin eat parsley! i love it and it just might deoderize you a bit lol we sweat what we eat so be careful and lay low on the garlic if you be sweatin a lot...... not a pleasant body odor.

Yeah, I totally remember the Remicade 'smell' - you just feel so yucky after an infusion and need to take a shower! But you're so darn wiped out from it! tongue

Well, as for my issue - on one side, I've always had a very weak immune system, the docs always attributed it to the autoimmune disease.....however, the flu season is still going strong in sunny san diego (though, we've had hot weather the last few days to bring in summer, and hopefully the bugs will finally die) and a lot of "healthy" people are getting double doses and extended versions of your typicaly flu, cold, what have you. 

We're leaving for a camping trip on Sunday and I hope this goes away - my fear is it will take a turn for the worse when I can't get help. I have a sore throat still and heavy congestion in the chest - though both are better than they were. However, this is day 12 of round two and it makes me wonder. Maybe a day at the Fair tomorrow will clear me up good (and exhaust me no doubt, especially since the feet and knees have been acting up already and we haven't gone yet!)

You all made me laugh! Loved all the posts! Jody, yeah, I'm sorry, I must have coughed too hard during my last post and sent a bug your way! Ha ha!!! Bear, welcome back and I may just try the apricot thing next time one of us needs a little 'push' in the bowels! Ewwww! :-) *****

ohhhhh...no sleep last nite sad up all nite w/ wicked shoulder joint pain. BLASPH!!!!

i am NOT moving today nono no way nono the little "activity" i attempted yesterday knocked me out. {trying to sweep my water logged bathroom ceiling that collapsed onto the floor into a garbage bag}

 

anyone ever see the film, "THE MONEY PIT" ?  well that's me right now.

 

THANKS BEAR for the apricots! tongue my issue here is far past constipation.  it's small intestine inflammation related...so basically, nothing squeezes through.

i have to drink & take the BIG GUNS for this bad-boy.

camama knows what i'm talking about...it's indescribable. go for an infusion and you'll know what i mean. LOL.

it's kinda like...if you made New Jersey into an eu de parfume. it would smell like:  B.O. with a hint of burnt rubber with dancing notes of skunk? eyes

i dunno...just taking a stab at that. lol.

Oh! The facial hair...I attribute it to the steroids totally.
I'm very particular with my complexion and am always to the 9...but when on steroids, the hormones that the corticosteroids make you produce {sorta like testosterone} can/may/will cause excessive facial hair on the upper lip, cheeks, and chin...ACNE....BACK ACNE (ewwwww).
Oh...this is gross....but, it can cause the female genitalia to umh...eh hum, change!
(You's can all go look that up for yourselves for some laughs)
Anywhoo...again, this is with long term high dose therapy usually.

Facial hairsmacial hair, what's the problem with having facial hair - some of us cannot remember a time when we didn't have facial hair. There's nothng we bears like better than getting together at the full moon and having a good howl - primal therapy dontchaknow? Pardonme while I comb my face here. But as for my genitalia - no change there and I'm sure I would notice if there wasLOL. No, mine has always been........whereare we going here? Look what you've started Erin and you laugh at me and my apricoots. Apricoots? What thesmeg are they. Anyway, that's not a moustache on your top lp, it's your eyebrows heading south for water.
The Bear cub has got an acne transplant on his back and that is without the use of meds. It isa work of art and I'm sure you get a picture of abe lincoln if you join his zits up.Honest.

What a descriptive bunch. Who needs a Merck Manual?!
Mother-in-law not doing so good. Organs beginning to shut down so the sooner we can get her into the "retirement home" the better. She's happy about moving back to her home town (when she can remember she's from here). Rough time. But, this place is new and very posh. Nice place with a lot more employees than I've ever seen.
Hoping for the best in a very hard and sad situation.

{{{{{{{{{bear hugs Boo]]]]]]]]]]]]]]] gentle on the ribs there. Sorry to hear aboutthe MIL Boo, it's a little to close for comfort for me with the bear family soon to be living together with MIL. I don't know how I wll cope with an ailing ML when the time comes, if it comes. It must eb stressful - hows the hubby dealing with it - I nearly said 'copng' there but us menfolk rarely cope we just deal with things -not the same thing really is it? Sorry about last nights rant, a bad pd day and my leg starte to 'come apart' last evening and so I resorted to fermented berry juice. Doesn't maket hings go away but creates enough of an illusion. Didn't help the the bear cub lookede at the calender and decided it is wind up papa bear day. I could've done without it.
Boo. Has your MIL got dementia or is it ust old age debility? Does she stll have those lucid times when you 'have her back'. Then's the time to get the family tree/history sored out. I omly wish I had done that when I was looking after my mother. I'm doing it now but it is so much harder.
We have a website here called genes reunited where you post what you know of your family tree and the computer matches up trees where potetially the same peopl;e are listed. Fascinating stuff - I have found cousins I have never met nor even known about. Gooduck withyour mother in law Boo and what's a Mercke's when it's in the closet?

Yally, YES, Loratabs do that to me.  But then I think Tylenol does that to me.

Thanks Guys.  You are all such a supportive bunch and I love ya for it.  Bear, it is dementia and COPD.  Swelling in her ankles is the worst I've ever seen in anyone.  Diruretics have worn her kidneys out to the point that there is very little function.  Doc says maybe 2 to 3 months if that long.  She's 86 and has fought a good fight.  Just a worn out little girl who is ready to go home.  I've known her since I was a little child.  When my mother died she was right there taking care of what needed to be done.  She's real special.Yea, Bear, I hear ya.  Sometimes, it seems we get a second chance to do what we didn't do for someone else.  God is a real Cool Dude when it comes to second chances.

Just found out yesterday that my aunt in Houston is dying of the very same thing.  20% heart function and she only has days/hours.

Get to participate in the other side of life today, 4 year old B-day party.  The little ones are keeping me going these days.  They're so precious and remind me how wonderful and beautiful life can be.  Even the TEENAGERS, Bear.  What a challenge.  I'm  grateful mine are married with families of their own but I sure miss them, even the standoffs.  BTW, two of my daughters are having arthritic problems with the oldest having toe joint replacement (just like me) next month.  Isn't this a grand disease?  The gift that just keeps on giving. 

Thanks again for the hugs.  I love you guys.

Hi everybody,
Just checked in on my son's computer in Memphis(had to keep tabs on you all) and when I read Boo's post ,
had to send my hugs as well....so very sorry to hear about your mother-in-law, has to be really tough for you. But can't help thinking how blessed she is to have someone to care about her as much as you do, you must be one special lady.
So sorry to hear about your daughters as well, worry about the same thing with my boys. One has diabetes since age two, which is also auto immune, hope it doesn't rear it's ugly head elsewhere. It's just awful to see your kids go through this stuff, isn't it? Nothing more I'd like on this earth than to protect them all.
We're off to go sight=seeing, just wanted to pop in, say hi and send hugs all around.
Will chat again next week!

Oh, Jody! Have a great time! How fun. Our party yesterday was at a covered pavillion at a Sonic Drive-in. Lots of big toys, slides, etc........and the worst thunderstorm I've ever seen (let alone stand outside in) but we opened presents as fast as we could, moved closer to building for the snacks. We were soaked to say the least. First "Grannies Gone Wild Wet T-shirt Contest" in recorded history.
My aunt passed last night. Bless her. Even though she lived in Houston she will buried here in Oklahoma. Thanks for all the prayers.
