Good Moanin', All. I had a good night's sleep and am even going to take my coffee and newspaper back to bed. That's what weekends are for, right? Don't usually sleep all that well when hubby is gone but I did last night. Must have needed some alone time to hog the whole bed.
Fingers more swollen than usual. I must remember that my mental state has a lot to do with my physical.
I was working on a t-shirt the other day that said,"Cowgirl Up" on the front in crystals. Very bling-bling and pretty. I thought......this person doesn't even know the meaning of having to "Cowgirl Up". She got on a horse and ran around some barrels. Oh for the days of just having to hold on tight as to not eat dirt! Sounds good to me. I've decided, with everything going on around me, life is short. I will soon go pick up my little Sapphire and ride her in the pasture if nothing else. I let her get the better of me and I shipped her off to let a young cowgirl keep her for the last several months. This is just something I need to do for myself. So think of Boo riding Sapphire, the horse who likes to come up on the front end like "HiHo Silver". Yeeeehaw!

Sapphire, what a pretty name! Sounds like you are doing a lot better Boo.. I absolutely LOVE horseback riding.. I haven't been in years though.. Have a good time riding, let us know how it goes!

Hot hot hot. 94 degrees with heat index of 101. Wish ing I had a pool, a Margarita, a cabana boy.......oh, man, getting carried away here.
Walked down the long hall to MIL's room too many times over the weekend. My feet are screamin'. I'm afraid I'm going to end up having surgery. Insurance won't pay for the quicker recovery, shock wave therapy. They will pay to have my foot cut open and repaired. Go figure.
Have lots of paper work to do so I can sell my biz. TTYL, Boo

hi Erin - is there anything you haven't taken for pain relief or are the untried and untested the real heavy duty stuff like morphine? Even then there are tolerance issues so it's a viscious circle either way I suppose. I take dihydracodiene but after my op in 3 weeks time I'm stoppoing taking them as they are of little value as a painkiller because my tolerance tot hem has grown so much. There's nothing I can suggest that ain't illegal.

Boo - have you tried sheepskin moccassins? Might not do anything to ease the pain and make walking any better but don't they feel just gorgeous to the touch? Wow.

Jody - would you like to educate this hair brained bear what "cowgirl up" means or am I missing something important here?

The sun is shining, the floods have gone - temporarily I fear - and all is well in the bear cave. It is 10th wedding anniversary tommorrow and I am treating mommy bear to a day out at the cricket international England v India at the Oval Cricket ground. Mommy bear is chuffed by the present and the cub is coming along for the ride. We are all cricket  nuts in the bear cave as you may have n oticed. We rarely go out together so that it is something special.

Flopsie, Ducky - what next Jemima Puddleduck? This thread is sounding like something outt of Beatrix Potter I'm just waiting for Jeremy Fisher to turn up and we have a bookful. Way to go.

First week in September will be a quiet week for people to get a word in edgeways whilst the bear is in hospital and won't be allowed to go online from there with my own equipment - you have to hire equipment and phones from the designated contracter within the hospital. A rip off by any othr means but the cub - huorn bless him - says he will smuggle my puter in under the cover of darkness and hide it in the bedside cabinet - which patients now have keys to!!!!

I am now off to the isle of wight to sort out a mess of social services makimg and develop the situation to our advantage - hopefully.

hi jody and everyone. sry for the quick post earlier but i was at the end of my luch break and had to scadoodle so i added a quick post on our friend JP!
i am doing alright i guess? same ol same ol still cant lift the arm much but it is a bit better after this last enbrel shot me thinks?????

funny thing i was in the dollar store this evening, my favorite kind of store, and the cashier goes to me " i love your messy hair"..... i look at her knowing what she is meaning but i just smile at first and then she says..." i mean i know u probably didnt mean for it to be like that but it looks great messy" lol i then figure i am going to let her off the hook and i tell her i cant lift my arm to curl or comb ny hair so my stylist gave me a fun haircut that would allow for easy fix and look good too. i then said thank you for my backwards compliment and i was glad my "messy hair" looked good! lol all i do is pull it out with what i can reach of my right hand and gel or spray it in pl;ace all messed up! easy as pie! lol

thanks for asking about my mom.... she saw the rhuemmy again monday and got a straight talkin to about not fooling with her accepting of this meess she is in ..... she also has thyroid and diabetes so the doc said her endo and autoimmune systems are a mess! she started the mtx a few weeks back and is doing very well on it. i havent shared this forum with her yet..... i may soon but she really doesnt have a computer so she would have to be on mine or my brothers to read and write posts.

how is everyone elses families doing these days??????? brothers sisters neices nephews alike? hubbies too..... mine is resting cuz his shoulder hurts to bad he passed on dinner? i dont know what to do with him??????? it is not like him to be so achey??????? am i contagious???? mom? hubbby???? wtbleep do we have here in our water????????? i am startin to wonder????????? all i know is i was first and they all copied lol ?????? very confusing? is RA contagious??????? keep away from yally she gots a joint leprocy! lol

Yally, that is so funny!  Messy hair look is IN for me.

SIL is in stage 3.  I can't talk much without crying these days.  Getting port tomorrow for chemo and an internal ultrasound.  I believe the "spots" in his pelvis are lymph nodes and they'll say he's in stage 4.  Not much good to say right now. 

I certainly do appreciate the support I get here.  And while a lot of what I write these days has nothing to do with RA, I've still got it.  Life just got piled on top of it. 

Many trips to see MIL yesterday as she was having a bad breathing day.  They moved her to a room closer to nurses desk so it's a little shorter walk for me.  I still ended up with ice pack in bed last night. 

Good definition for "cowgirl up".  I sure don't feel like I'm doing it right though.  It's more like cinching up the saddle strap good and tight and holding on for dear life.  I've gotten bucked off many times in my life but this has laid me out flat. 

I'm going to try to sleep for a while (with the good old ice pack).  Thanks for being here for me.  Boo

Report yesterday......it is in the lymph nodes. Got his port and is intending to fight this as long as possible.
I am going to their house today (hubby is already there) and cooking the world's biggest pot roast and anything else I can think of.
I am sooooo needing you guys through this. I'm going to make an effort to be available to my daughter AND listen to my body. Speaking of which.....I went off the Celebrex and back on Lodine. Celebrex was harder on the tummy than Lodine. What's a person to do? I'm wondering if I have an ulcer. I'll move my rheumy appointment up. This is literally the *****. Boo

Please....you...a downer?   You inspire me!!!  I thought I was the downer in the group!  Been thinking of you and your family, praying daily for all of you  I honestly don't know where you find the strength to put one foot in front of the other.  I am so very sorry about the latest news about your son-in-law..didn't you say he was 33? That's just way too young!  Out oldest is almst 32, can't even imagine itWish we could make it better for you somehow, I'm crying right with you. I'm like you in the cooking thing, seems like when things are out of control, I end up in the kitchen....understand why they call it "comfort food" I guess.  Please, please do take care of yourself...been on Celebrex on and off myself, not sure if it really does any good, but some days I just need to do something.
Been a rough couple of days, haven't been on, cuz I'm fighting the blues myself, flaring pretty bad, wondering if this mtx is EVER going to kick in and work. Feet, hips, knees, you name it.  Harder to find a spot that doesn't hurt.Just sort of want to curl up in a ball somewhere, but life just doesn't let you do that, does it? Business is slowing down, another little one is going off to pre-school, so that means need to fill a space.  Only calls I'm getting means I either have to start earlier in the am, or work later in the pm, don't want to do either but...

Yally, you crack me up about the hair, think I would have sat down and cried right there in the dollar store...hope your mom and hubby are ok.....if this starts spreading around my family...we'll have to check out the whole contagious issue! How's your girls?  Isn't one leaving for college soon?  Sure remember those days....exciting and sad at the same time.

Erin, how you doing?  Did they give you any new med to help with the pain?  I sure hope so!!  Hugs to the rest of you, too, Ducky, Bear, Camama, hope all is well with everybody.

Guess I've written more than my share here, as per usual, got to get some of the Saturday errands done.  Already took the dogs to the park and gave them their baths...now have to hit the grocery stores..
