Acylovir

Hey everyone, it's been forever since I've written anything, but I always get on here and read posts.

My question is..does anyone know about whether or not I can take Aclyclovir along with MTX and Enbrel? I hope someone knows what I'm talking about here, I don't really want to spell it out if ya know what i mean.:)

Thanks so much Erin, Yeah i know I need to be safe with the meds. I have an appointment with my Primary doc on the 17th, but I think that what is happening is that my immune system is shot because of the RA meds and the RA itself, and i am now having monthly break outs. Never ever even had one til the RA, it was only my husband that had to deal with it prior to the RA. So now I am wondering if they can put me on a daily med, so that i won't get them at all. Acyclovir is for use as needed. My rheumy said last month that if i get a breakout, to stop all my ra meds and take the Acyclovir, but i can't be doing that monthly ya know? I will just try to grin and bear it until i see my primary dr. This whole thing sucks !!!My Ra seems to be in pretty good check the last month, and my fatigue is getting better too. I'm dealing with a horid case of siatic(sp) nerve in my left leg though, which is why i'm seeing the doc on the 17th. Thanks to you for being here for me and everyone!!! Joy

It's an oral med. I think it's a very important topic too. The pain of Ra flares are much worse than the other, but to deal with this every month, just isn't going to sit with me very well at all. With the comprimised immune system and a break out, i worry that i could get a very bad infection quick.
