Thanks for them thar dancers, Yally!  I'm in a state of feeling like a limp dish rag.  I think we were just all running on adrenalin and finally got to take a real deep breath yesterday.  I slept better last night than I have in a long time.  Yes, Erin, they will be watching him like a hawk.  Still surgery, most probably a colostomy bag for a while.  Lots of work ahead of him, but what a relief! 

I feel so old and dumb at times.  9 year old grand staying the night and I've been standing on my head trying to get the DVD player hooked up.  Ugh!  I've only just now learned how to use the VCR.  Long day and I'm going to tell the little Prince to watch his movies all night if he wants.  I'm going to bed.  Thank you Everyone for being so happy with me.  I couldn't wait to come home and "tell" you the news yesterday.  I feel like you are family!

up before the birds today @ 2:43am with freakin' leg pain. oy!  i'm at my hunny's...so at least the Tempur-pedic bed was a blessing to be in for 3 hours unitl it was late enough for me to grind some coffee beans.

he's out on his run now...36 degree! whoa...bet he'll come back with some chapped nipples! LOL...

 

so yeah, joe arranged for his friend to drive in with me to my SSDI hearing on tuesday.  a blessing. i wouldn't be able to get there is not for him.

so i'm just going to go...i'm not expecting anything; i won't be surprised if it is again denied. this'll be the 4th refusal.  should it go 4 times denied i think i have a lawsuite.  somethin' is not right if i'm denied 4 times but i'm worse and worse each year to a point where i can't get out of the house for 5 days in a row...

i'll get an attorney should this happen, for i think i could probably have a bigger badder case for discrimination of age or whatever the reason it is they keep denying the case.

I rolled out this morning and got stopped mid-turn by pain. Can you imagine that? Couldn't get the coffee container (the arthritis approved container) open, yelled some profanities, dogs and hubby are in hiding now. Ha. Hubby said he had to go to lumber yard today to get more 2x4's for the railing on the porch. I had to laugh out loud. He just looked at me in a very puzzled, "are you going mad", kind of way. Poor guy.
I got a lot of work done yesterday (preserved two wedding dresses, got statements out, cleaned the shop, paid bills,....) so I'm hiding today. Maybe start reading a new book or just watch tv all day. I'm tired. It takes so much out of us to act like semi-normal folks, doesn't it? Have a great Sunday. Boo (Becky Ba**s)

hidie ho neighbors........... lol well today was an interesting day off. i starved to death as i had an abdominal sonogram at 4 pm and could not eat or drink all day! needless to say i am stuffed right now! lol

erin..... best of luck to you tomorrow........ you know i only wonder one thing...... in order to get ssdi you have had to work for a while to get enough quarters in. often young people like yourself dont qualify due to lack of input into the system....... ssi yes but di is harder to get and is based on your work history....... at least that is how i know it for my clients? you are so young, but then again you may have worked many years since the beginning. i wish you success in your endevor........ and i pray for a YES with a big fat stamp of approval!!!!

ducky sweet ducky, you kow i am thinking of you. how are you feeling through this all? i have been so wrapped up in hubby leaving that i havent asked about your joints etc...... hanging in there...

jody, how are you doing these days??????/ i am certain the kidos are keeping you hoping the best you can..... making any hand turkeys for the holidays lol

hey all

Erin hope things go well for you tomorrow. Getting rid of some of the stress this must be causing may help you feel better.
Hope everyine is well and Yally, lets start cooking, I have lots of good old French Canadian recipes to add oui, oui !!!
I have to go back ti my rheumy this week. I've been having heart palpitations and not sure whats causing them and my left shoulder is so swollen and painful i can barely move it.
Must carry on!!!

raven please post them! you had your thanksgiving last month in canada? what did you serve? no souffles though cant spell it or make them! lol

oh raven i hope all is ok with you. i too have those palpatations more lately. had a few episodes of flutters too. kinda scarey. and Lord knows i feel for anyone with sholder inflammation and pain.... know you are in my thoughts and prayers and unfortunaltely not alone. good luck at the rhuemmy and keep us posted!

My post shingles pain in spine is REALLY BAD AND REALLY NEW. It is neurological and hurts so much. Lyrica which is a controlled substance is not that effective. Yesterday I went to a local Veteran's Day celebration and did my mite covers (asthma/allergies) and it was PAINFUL. Thank goodness I got to sit at a movie house in the evening and felt better. Got home at 10 pm. Wheeepee and that's late for upstate New York. Got home at 11 pm on Friday night (did shopping after a church movie) and wow it doesn't get any later than that! PEACE ON

so sorry to hear about the pain you are in joan. i have heard that shingles are extremly painful. i hope the lyrica works soon. i know when i took lidaderm patches they stated they were for shingles, have you heard of them????? it is a topical patch you place on the area of pain and it kinda numbs things a bit. keep us posted but at least you are out and about painting the town lol....... take care

Hi all,

Been MIA again, a flare of epic proportions seems to be making it's way through my body..ugh.  Weird thing though it that it seems to be hitting mainly the right side...shoulders to toes, but could almost draw a line down the middle of myself as to where it's hitting.  This is the first time that I have seriously though that maybe I won't be able to continue my job for as long as I had hoped to.  Perhaps a week off will help that.  Hoping it gets better quick as I need to get ready for our trip...leaving Friday morning for 8 days in the COLD country. High predicted of 38 on Thanksgiving Day...this Florida wuss is going to be a' freezin'.  Don't know if I'll have access to a computer there, so..if I can't check in with all of you, wanted to say that I hope you all have a wonderfull, hug-filled holiday, you will all be in my thoughts, and heart.

In the spirit of the holiday, wanted to say that one of things I am most thankful for this year is that I found all of you...you impact my life each and everyday, and I'm not kidding about that.  You all inspire me in ways you could never imagine. When I'm down and think I can't take another step, I think of all storms that each of you have gone through, and still manage to stay stong and grounded.  When I need encouragement, you're always there to cheer me up or cheer me on, there is understanding and support here that I have never found anywhere else.The other day I was reading something and it said "God gave us shoulders for a reason"..well, thank you for letting me lean on all of yours. Bless each and everyone of you, you're so special to me!

Just a quick check in here.  MIL gets bad then rallies.  I think we are down to just having a few more days with her.  When she looks at you it's more like she's looking through you.  Lots of talk about her husband who died 11 years ago will here in a few minutes to pick her up.  And " who are the angels standing behind you?".  Bottoms of her feet are black and breathing attacks are more frequent and severe.  Morphine around the clock. 

Hubby is sinking, frustrated, manic, you name it.  I'm carrying him right now.  This is understandable and he has every right to be grieving and feeling stuff he's never felt.  I had to come to bed last night.  My body would not do any more.  I'm rested now and will carry him another day.  Sometimes the other stuff just has to wait. 

I'm happy to report that my SIL is on a hunting trip, something he wanted to do before he has to undergo that horrendous surgery and more chemo.  He has some energy and is using it.

I'll post again when I can.  Love to All!!!!!!  Boo

Hi, yally...I'm stuck with lyrica for post shingles pain. It could be worse. It is in my spine though. So glad I met ya'll here on the net. Did not do over 900 on the trivia test yet!!! I found that chewing fredent gum controls my appetite. Am overweight and that is a big NO-NO for the doctors and all. Take care of yourself...all you moaners.

Good Moanin' Friends!!!!!!

Having my Saturday morning cup of coffee and just sitting for a change.  I thought Saturday would never get here.  Two of my kids are cooking for me today.  I think they feel guilty because they are having Thanksgiving with their Outlaws.  Then hubby and I are going to a benefit concert for the SIL tonight about an hour away.  Busy weekend. 

Another bid on the biz.  Keeping my fingers crossed!

Joan, I'm overweight too.  Not a good thing for my joints.  Although, I saw my PCP Wednesday and I'd lost 8 lbs. since my visit 6 months ago.  Only about 30 more to go.  Woohoo!  I know I'd feel better.  Vicious cycle though.  Don't walk much anymore because of the joints, heel spurs...heel spurs because I'm fat..........

Oh, well.  So is life.

C'mon Boo, you know there are no such things as fat people - large, small, thin and thick [set] , rotund, squat, lean and not so lean but FAT? No. Fat is a value judgement [and an insult]. 

We all beat ourselves up so much at times in the verbal department. 

Glad to see your kids cooking for you.

 

Went to see my neuro yesterday only to find he has left the hospital - now got a new one who had 40 minutes to play carch up with my pd. He has referred me for a brain scan [if they can find one] and a plethhora of blood tests including copper residue - erin can you ask hunny about the relevance of copper in pd? I forgot to ask him, and he is also offering a channge in meds but not for three months to give me time to have the scan and talk to  my GP. The scna should confirm if I do indeed have pd but can also tell if I ahve something else [perhaps darker] other than pd. He isn't questioning my diagnosis he just wants to satisfy himself. I have an alien in my head.

How is everybody out there in rheumy land? Ducky - how is hubby getting along on the neach?

Yally - you still playing it cool sans daughter?

Happy Saturday everyone..

How is everyone doing?  Seems a little slow lately, I think a lot of people may be going on vacation soon 'cause of Thanksgiving.. I will be headed to Kentucky for Turkey Day, anyone else going out of town?

Hubby is ok, ready to come home.. he's been gone a little over a month and all is well so far.. I've noticed I am getting cranky..  eyes Little things that didn't bother me so much before are starting to annoy me.. maybe I just need a break?  I've got Wednesday off, so I'll have a 5 day weekend coming up.. will be nice, I'm sure will be the break I so desperately need.

Erin, how are you doing?  Haven't heard from you since your SSDI post, I hope you're ok..

Yally, how are you?  Any news on when the surgery is going to be?

Jody, you're out of town, be safe and careful, we'll see you when you get back.

Moanin' everone,

Hope everone is well.  It's so cold here.  Once the snow comes it will take some of the dampness away.  I'm in the middle of a flare that started last week and has progressed to the point where the pain is almost intolerable.  What do you do when the pain meds aren't working??  Also have a cold and I'm presuming a sinus infection.. I lost my voice as well.  My husband looks at me like I've lost my mind.  Waiting for my Rheumy to get back to me.  i'm not sure if I should take the MTX when I'm sick?  Any opinions on that?? 

On a better note, we had our Santa Claus Parade today.  Ho, Ho, Ho.

Maybe I have lost it.

Just a quick note to say thhat a certain Shelby Montemayor has emailed me to pushe a commercial product that has been wiped off the thread in the past - it is not a medication and is taking the line that it is better than ntx etc. For those of you who, like me declared an email address with the best of intentions be aware and don't succumb. The silly scrote obviously doesn't read the posts as she wwould know I don't have RA.

Bear, I got it too.  Just deleted.  Did not open as I did not recognize name.

Round the clock vigil of family surrounding MIL.  All kids but one  are with her.  I finally had to give in at 3:30 this morning.  I will stay here by the phone as there is not even any place to sit in her room.  She knows that I love her to the moon and back.  She was very alert and happy around 7:00pm last night.  Then slipped into a very deep sleep.  I'm keeping my wits about me, not feeling guilty that others are there while I am not.  I'm not particularly needed at this point and don't want them to have to pick me up off the floor.

We were on our back home from a benefit concert for our SIL when we got the call.  It was a very nice evening with our kids and a bunch of very wonderful, talented people raised much needed money for them.  There are some good ole country folk around here that still follow the Golden Rule.  Very touching.

More as I can........  Boo

hey Raven...about your pain meds?  (i'm on hefty arsinal too & the RA pain gets so extreme even Oxycontin, tylenol & dilaudid combined don't ease it).

what i do then it <<<<<<ugh>>>>>> skull ADD SOME PREDNISONE.  skull   blah, it helps; but i hate it.

 

umh...yeah, i've been thrown  into a flare. ((((((((stinks)))))))))  fightin' off a bad swollen gland/ tough joint pain/ and severe fatigue {all from tuesday's sitting @ the court} in recovery mode though, at my hunny's...trying to taper off prednisone. mad haven't slept since thursday though {double stink}.

 

THE OTHER SIDE OF THE MIRROR was awesome...it's Dylan's Newport Folk Festival new release. but put your good china away when Joan Beaz comes on. LOL. :-)

 

oops...Bear, my hunny never saw or heard anything in any of his patients regarding copper residue. eyes only thing he could think of is overexposure (via work or factories or environmental) toxicity. thus a cause of it.  but he never had a pt. w/ copper residue/toxicity he's worked on.

but...he can ask someone on Monday when he gets to the office.  you let me know. okay?
