Can you have facial sinus pain, headaches and dizziness or lightheadedness without having a sinus infection? Can inflammation somehow cause the facial paint with no infection? I have ruled out a sinus infection. Please tell me your thoughts. I am trying to figure out what the cause of this pain is and correlation. I do have other symptoms that correlate to sjogrens, but I am most concerned with finding out if the facial sinus pain can be associated with sjogrens without a sinus infection. My rheumetologist is thinking I might be developing sjogrens. I already have identified Lupus, but it will be a while before I can see him and I am trying to figure out the cause of my pain.

Yes, of course you can have inflammation and irritation without having an infection.

Have you tried using a sinus medication for relief? I generally use Pseudo-ephedrine Hydrochloride (CVS has it's own brand behind the counter) - it's a nasal decongestant that helps sinus pressure. I take this along with some Ibuprofen for the inflammation.

I actually don't know if my facial sinus pain is associated with my Sjogren's or not, but this treatment seems to take care of it.

Could it be a migraine? Many people get sinus pain with migraine - I'm one.

No sinusitis showed up on my ct. It's definitely been triggering migraines! But I seem to have this facial pain everyday and sometimes it really hurts behind my eyes in my eye socket. Particularly my right side. But it's been everyday so I'm just not sure what to do.

I guess what I meant to say is that my migraine IS sinus pain.

My mom had something similar during perimenopause - she would get terrible pain behind her eye, her eye would water for a day or so, and then it would go away.

For me, I'll feel headachy, but what is most noticable is my right sinus feels bruised and my nose will even run. Taking an imitrex stops the whole thing.

Try sinus meds - it can't hurt and if it does nothing you can always stop them!
