Hi, I am new here. Hope to share and gain some knowledge from you guys.

I have been diagnosed with sjogren syndrome early this year. Was on the anti-malaria drug for a few months but side effects kicks in - my skin turned slight dark. I have since stopped the medication thought doctor advised me since my eyes are better after taking the medication, i should not stop though i got a bit dark.

My dry eyes and skin are rather serious. Have to survive on eye drops and is senstivite to light too. For my skin, i have to constantly apply moisturiser and not to forget my dry mouth.

Lately i noticed that my right arm/hand/fingers starts to ache. is this one of the cuase of sjodren too? I am rather affected.

What should I do?

Yolky I am new here as well and also have Sjogrens (before Venus but no PR :-) ) I use Restasis for the dry eyes and Pilocarpine 10mg Qid for the dry mouth. Both are scrip items and the eye drops are a bit expensive but they work. I also have a bottle of water or sugar free hard candy around all the time. Unfortunately there is no cure except to treat the symptoms and a blood test every 6 months to check your autoimmune deficiency

Restasis dont work for me, its too excpensive. i tried before.
are u on the anti-malaria drug?

Yolky, If you can't take Restasis then how about one of the better eye drops or artificial tears. Not as good, but if that's all there is ----------

I do not have malaria, although it's a wonder after spending 6 years in the jungles of Nam some years back.
