I'm going through a really tough time right now. I had to stop taking zoloft because it made me so nervous and made my restless legs worse. My psych doc just started me on lamictal as a mood stabilizer and antidepressant and it hasn't kicked in yet. I'm already on geodon. I can't stop crying and I feel hopeless and exhausted. I'm going to my counselor today so at least I can talk about it. Just needed to vent a little. Has anyone had experience with lamictal for depressiion? Thanks

Hi Jeeper,

I'm sorry to hear you're having such a sad time right now, they stink. I wish we had a magic wand. As to the Lamictal, I like it a lot. I've been taking Lamictal for years, not just for depression, but as a mood stabilizer. But it has anti-depressant qualities. It does take weeks to kick in, so hold on as best you can, but it really helped me. It's good you're seeing your counselor, but keep in constant contact with your doc and your counselor right now -- that's what you pay them for. If it gets unbearable, give one of them a call.

Thanks so much for your support and for the info on lamictal. It helps just knowing that there is a light at the end of the tunnel with the lamictal. I had a good session today with my counselor so that helped too. Thanks again for your input...Jeeper
