nono     Whatever you do, never take any over the counter medication, or, new medication Without letting your doctors know.

I am going on 2 weeks, (next doc. appointment is in April), without Medication. I thought I would be okay, until next Doctor's appointment..

I am not going to make it.. I'm feeling really weird and i don't like it......

No more paxil

no more starttara

no more lamatical

no more serquel

All this for taking Ibuprofen.. I didn't have the money to see a dentist/ or to the hospital

They thought i was self medicating once again.

I love my wife and I knew she was worried, but i wish she wouldn't said anything to my attendent worker.

I don't understand. You took ibuprofen and you're attendent worker pulled your meds? How did that happen? Can't you call your doc to get new prescriptions? By no means should you go two weeks with no meds.

contact your pdoc asap via phone and explain to him what is going on. He should be able to get your meds called into the pharmacy for you, OR have your pharmacy call the pdoc and request authorization to refill your meds!!!!!!! Good luck...LFW

My attendant care woker was over at my house. Droping off some samples of strattra for ADHD. My insurance does not cover it, and I didn't have the $200 to fill the prescription..
We were disscusing what my options were, about my abcessed (sp) tooth..
We couldn't find a dentist who would excepy my insurance and, I didn't want to goto the hospital..
I did have some Ibuprofen 800mg ( a bottle of 30 tabs).. So that's what i used for pain..
It wasn't that i was taking the Ibuprofen, it was the amount, the hole bottle in a day and half..
( my wife brought it up)
WHen my doc heard about it a day latter.. my attendant care worker came back and requested my med box..
I refused..My case manager had her hands tied, Until i see my Doc. Next my appointment is April 1
I believe they think I was trying to get high or something, or were worried about my liver.. I have no idea..
I'm doing akay some sideeffects cold sweats and racing thoughts..

In your area, there will be a University that has a dental program...I am sure. MOST of those programs have clinics where people with no insurance can come and have dental work done. It is ONLY the 3rd year dental students allowed to work on patients AND it is completely overseen by the dental professors who are working dentists themselves. These programs are VERY low cost...and THEY can take care of an abscessed tooth easily. They do root canals, crowns, bridges...etc. They even have the advanced study programs for specialties attended by already certified dentists for additional specification training...i.e. periodontist, orthodontist...etc. All these doctor's have to practice and do work for a certain number of hours in the clinic towards their degree. Think intern/residents and such as doctors in training...or a full fledged doc...etc. This should help you get that taken care of, and then the rest should fall back into place for you. Well this again is another lesson for all of us with B/P.

 Do Not take over the counter medications without discussing it with your Doctor or Pharmacist.

So, how is your tooth doing? Were you able to find anyone to help you? LFW gave a really good suggestion. Ask the pharmacist if you can use Orajel. I heard that works quickly in a pinch.

I would give the doctor a holler, and let him know what you are going through. Maybe he can subscribe you just enough meds to get you through your next appointment. Don't hesitate on calling him.

yeah  Okay, a update.....

I did what LFW suggested... I found a Dental School in Pitsburg Kansas, that takes my Insurance.

Unfortunately, I cant get in until May, all though they did prescribe some antibotics and a pain killer.

As for my other medication, I saw my Docotor today and we did discuss, that episode with the ibuprophen.. MY CASE MANAGER told her i was abussing my regular medication, I'm not I know it doesn't work that way.. My doctor arranged a meeting with my case manager this very day..

I should hear something today around 3 pm..

It was a good thing i brought my wife and attendant care worker.. THEY even stressed to her that it was the ibuprophen that i abussed not my normal medication..

If she doesn't re prescribe them, I have decided to goto my regular doctor to re prescribe them..

THe only side effects i have been having is that Cold sweat thing and the shakes and I'm not sleeping maybe a hour a night and my anxiety has been outrageously high.......

Oh my Gosh, you're joking! This is a travesty. You have to wait to see your pdoc again? What if you had some life-threatening illness? This is the most absurd thing I've heard.

What a bunch of CRAP!

I've been reading your story as it is updated,  and it sounds like you owned your mistake, ready to move on.

Let me tell you it is a normal thing for doctors to not believe/understand someone else's pain.  Do you think that may have contributed to the docs decision?  I really don't see why your doc didn't believe you and then advise you of what to take, dosage, how often. 

I do hope your med situation gets resolved with the least amount of symptoms as possible, and of course your tooth also.

I am thankful for the positive note of the dental school  giving you antibiotics and pain meds up front.  So you won't land in the hospital with an infection, but possibly if your bp symptoms flare up. 

So like you said, head for your Primary doc and get your necessary meds back.

O ya I forgot to mention the fact Last Sunday I ended up in the emergency room..
For a month, my gut has been killing me.. I was actually worried that I did some really serious Damage with that ibuprophen thing.. They ran all sorts of tests, thank god my liver was okay..
Well to make a long story somewhat short... I have a bleeding ulcer
I think a lot of it has to do with the fact i have a huge problem with Anxiety.
I'm a chronic worrier.. I worry over worrying
I think alot of it could be to... IS when i get up set with someone or their just being spitfull or mean towards me or just putting me down. I hold my tongue, i don't speak my mind i don't stand up for my self.. For some sick reason, I bielve deep down i deserve what there saying.. Yes, Yana verbal abuse realy hurts for you it was you father for me it was my mother..
