hey guys,

I'm new to the whole mood chart thing. My doc's always running late so he rushed me out of there last time & i didn't get a chance to ask him. If you have a day where you would say there were even amounts of feeling high & depressed would you check both?

mmm, i've never done a mood chart... but i would check both.

Yes, check both. It's important to know if your mood is swinging during the day.

You should check both and mark the time too,so you know what time it changes ,Mood charts are cool!!i wish my bf could listen to me more.

hi memorie,

I use a mood chart--they are so helpful (as long as you chart every single day--which sometimes is a challenge for me).  If you are feeling at both ends of the mood spectrum, check both.  You're a rapid cycler???  I am, definitely.  My moods can change many times in one day; and also week to week.  It's awful.  Feeling both up and down can mean a mixed state as well.  I feel with my rapid cycling I experience a lot of mixed episodes.

So, I feel especially those of us who cycle like this, a mood chart is essential.

yeah, rapid cycler here. It's been changing several times in the same day; the same mood will last no more than 3 or 4 days. It's been frustrating doing the mood chart because so far i haven't had any "normal" days. Just started new meds, so I'm hoping i can have some normal days soon. I'm actually enjoying the chart for the simple reason that i should be wearing a pocket protector & a calculator on my belt, i'm a nerd..i like charts. Thanks Mogs

P.S. Congrats!!! on school. Completing school is nothing short of a HUUUUGE accomplishment. One of these days, i hope to finish myself.

Wow, your cycling sounds exactly like mine...3 to 4 days... my depressions can last longer, but for the most part its a constant up and down.  I just started having some normal days since the Lamictal kicked in for me.  Now my depressions seem to be less intense and shorter in duration.  I had a great appt with my pdoc yesterday.  If I sink into a depression for more than a few days, then I can up my dose by 25mg.  Hopefully the meds start working soon for you.

Definitely keep up with the mood charting--I just did mine for yesterday and today.  All caught up :-)

You can finish school too, no problem! yeah
