I am worried medications of combinations?

Hi I am worried about all the medications I take,I go to 2 Doctors and they both give me so many medications and am worried of the combinations of them.will they hurt to mix them>>??

I have Bi-Polar severly and also Rheumitood arthiritis Osteo also.

<Medications are: Trileptal,Welbutrin SR,Mobic,Gabepentin Ambien,vistaril and many others. my question is Why so many pills,thank god I don't have Alhiemerzs! does anyone else worry about the combination of so many pill?

Hi Rita1955,

Welcome to the board and to Healing Well. I think you're right to be concerned about drug interactions. I know it's bothered me in the past. I'm on five for my bipolar alone. All I could recommend is to write them all out on a piece of paper with your dosages and take them with you next time you see one of your doctors, and ask if there's any danger of mixing them. If you feel like you're on too many, ask if there's any chance you could reduce the prescriptions that he/she prescribes. Make him/her remind you what each drug does. Then do the same for the other doc. You may be stuck with what you have, but at least you'll know why you're on all those drugs.

I would make sure each doc you go to knows EVERY med you're on from both of them. Also while this doesn't always work...the pharmacy you use usually has a computer that checks interactions, but not always. Sometimes even docs don't know all the possible interactions...I'd talk to my pharmacist if I were you.
