i may be rxd some litihium this week, can anybody share their experiences with it?

Hello,

My honest advice is leave it well alone it turned me into a real life zombie.

Thats just my advice. What else ahve you tried so far??

After trying dozens of different medications......Lithium has been a  God send for me. That along with Celexa and Clonazepam. I'm finally pretty stable and am starting to feel the best I've felt in years.

Lithium is a very commonly persribed drug, they say it works well with BP and depression. its usualy one of the first drugs people are given. just becareful there is a risk of over dose if not taken properly so follow Dr's instructions with it. and as with taking any drug make sure your dr knows how you feel while on it (if it makes you sick, if you still have dangerous feelings, if you get zombie-like).

i've never been perscribed it though, its on the list of drugs the Drs won't give me, lol :)

Lithium worked very well at first, but as my dose was increased I started having terrible hand tremors and felt like a zombie.  I am now on Risperdal and so far, once we got dosage right, is working pretty well for me.  Amazing, we all have the same disorder, but meds affects us all so differently.  I hope it works for you, but if it does not, keep trying!

I was on lithium for about 2 years in the past and it worked well to stabilize me. I had problems with tremors and minor memory issues so I stopped taking it. It is the oldest of all the mood stabilizers, so it tends to have a lot of side effects. They usually go away, but some do not and can be bothersome. Please let us know how you are doing on it.
