I ended up back in the hospital again early this week, almost did the SI thing. Now my pdoc tells me I broke a promice to call first and she may not treat me anymore. I am worried I will have to start all this over again with a new pdoc

Just do what he/she tells you to do & you will be ok........That can be a problem when you feel good & don't take your meds.then you get into trouble all over again..........

I don't like that attitude in a pdoc. I had a therapist who pulled that on me once and I got a new therapist. I don't think it's helpful. We need help, not lectures.

I'm so sorry that you're having that bad a time. Would you like to write about it here?

I am not happy about it either, I am trying real hard to 1 understand all this, 2 deal with all the meds and thier side effects, my hands shake so bad I can hardly get my contacts in. I have changed meds and dosages about 20 times in the last year. 3 deal with the shame I feel about this whole bipolar II things. And now have to worry about being dumped by me pdoc on top of it all.

Thomas...hang in there. Being bipolar and feeling ashamed seem to go hand in hand. While in manic states we all do things we later regret. It is very hard to get to the place where we forgive ourselves, much less others forgiving us for ways we may have slighted them.

Bipolar meds are hit and miss for everyone. It really does take time for the right combination to be found for each person. But it is important to give each med a lot of time to see it's true help or lack of. I suffered from dizzying side effects for 2 weeks when starting mine. My dizzyness was so bad that I and my husband thought something was seriously wrong with me...to the point of going to urgent care and having a cat scan!

But I suffered through it and it eventually wore off.

I talked to my therapist today and explained the situation, she seemed to have changed her mind about making me go somewhere else. I have tried several other people and have not connected with anyone. I did agree to get a second pdoc opnion on my meds.

Thomas2,

I have a question about who told you they may not treat you anymore.  Was it your Psychologist or your Psychiatrist that said that to you? I know that with my psychologist I did make a contract with her, but after hurting myself again and going in the hospital she would never say that.  Please choose your therapist wisely your in charge of how people treat you, and do not feel shame because you need to continue getting the help you need.  Hang in there.

Both said it to me, pdoc was not nice about it at all....I think I am going to try to find new help

Are you on litium if you dont mind me asking? This could be the cause of your shaking it happened to me too. If it gets realy bad like you are saying something could be wrong. Just thought I would give you a tip from my experince.

Out of the hospital, doing ok a little on the down side. Having these urges to drink ( it's been over a year) and smoke (its been since last Sept)So I'm not sure what all this about thanks for asking

Glad you're out. Hope you're doing okay. How are you dealing with the urges? Do you like your doc? Do you have a counselor?

I have not smoked or drank yet just trying to take it day by day.
I love my therapist, do not really like pdoc much
