I'm new around here.  Just saying hi.  I'm looking for some social support and there aren't any in-person groups in my area.  How to get to know a few of you!

Welcome to HealingWell and the bipolar board. It's nice to have you. You said in another post that you're recently diagnosed. How did that happen for you? Are you stabilizing now?

I attend a university.  I came out of a year-long hypomanic episode and into a deep depressive and panic episode a few weeks into the last semester.  The university offers free counseling and psychiatrist - just pay for meds and lab work.  I was prescribed an antidepressant that made me manic, then was finally diagnosed after 8 years of frustration and medications that didn't work.

I'm mostly stable now - fine tuning the doses.

Welcome!!!  Yes, it was the same with me.  I was medicated for depression and felt great!  Until I went manic and then they're like... okay, you're bipolar.  We got it now!  lol

So far, I have found this forum very good. The guidelines and rules are sensible; so chalk one up for HealingWell/Bipolar. yeah
