Holiday weekend check in, how you all doing out there?

 

  Hey everyone, how you all doing? Its the middle of a busy holiday weekend and i wanted to check in with  you all and see what you have been up to. VENTING is totally allowed,   Its the holidays, which for many of us means family, which brings up phrases like "Justifiable Homicide"

  My week has been  a bit of a mess, oh heck a hell of mess. Got a vicious flu bug that has run thru my firestation (Since we are Air Force we get people in all the time from overseas, and they bring in bugs from time to time) This sucker kicked my butt and is still causing me issues in the sinus department. Worst part was the 103 fever i had thur night, wow, havnt had one of those in a while.

  However i have had to call out work for 4 days to fight this thing, and the nicest thing happened. My bosses said  they would continue to pay me even though i was sick because when i am there i work so hard. I was really touched and felt that this is one area where my BP has helped me is with the massive energy that i get from it.

  My wife (Who broke her ankle a week and a half ago) has been a "Mama Bear" to me, making sure i am ok and taking care of me. Even Thor puppy has been hanging out with me instead of going outside. It has just given me a moment to consider how lucky i am to have the family and friends that i have.

   Aside from that i am in good BP spirits with no real problems as of late. Nice to take a break from that also.

   Ok, how are you all doing? I want details. LOL LOL LOL

I'm tired!  I was having med side effects or something most of yesterday that wore me out.  Hypomanic last night.  Forced myself to stay in bed, but laid awake.  Up super early this morning.  New alarm clock so all good on remembering meds this morning.

Just wiped out.  Forgot how much energy a moods swing takes and recovering afterwards - and this stuff has been very mild.

DS is banished to his room after whiny harassment while I was trying to read.

SO is planning on dragging me to a wedding dance in 2 weeks.    Nothing to wear.  Hate weddings.  Receptions/dances even more.  Don't dance.  And on a restrictive diet so I can't eat.  And I don't know anyone there.  I DO NOT want to go.    So I'm stressing out about dress shopping because it is the only thing I can DO about it.

It a gorgeous day and I'm sitting on the couch all blah.  Am I depressed?  or tired?  I don't know.  I'm on a lower dose of meds than I have been on.  I had a rough 24 hours.  It could be either.  I haven't eaten - could be low blood sugar.

Someone boot me off the couch, feed me and throw me outside in the sunshine.

I think you are right Bill.  I ate and apple sunbathed and washed the dishes.  I don't feel like I am in a funk, but definitely tired.  Maybe a nap this afternoon....  :)

Weekend is going OK. My 93 year old Mom is with us for four days. She does real well getting around and so on. However, she has trouble comprehanding my BP even tho over the many years I have been BP, she has babysitted my kids when I was in the hospital and so on. She doesn't "get" depression at all and thinks mania is wonderful because I talk non-stop and have so much energy. Oh, well...she is a good Mom. It's hot here in Michigan. Was going to ride my horse today, but slept most of the afternoon instead. Tomorrow I Will plant all the flowers I bought if it kills me (NO afternoon sleeping for me) and I will hopefully ride my horse. My kids and their SO's were here yesterday for a cookout. Good to see the kids (now ages 23 and 34). Most of all I feel a bit blah and I am trying to cheer up.

Oh yeah forgot to add I totaled my truck last week and I have a shoulder that was pulled out of socket and realized I had two bulging disk in my back one that connects my head to my spine and my L5 so pain induced but mood is getting better lol. I can deal with pain not a bad attitude lol.

I had an average long weekend.... except one high-point. 

My SO and I were watching TV together, I had my laptop out and we were being generally lazy together.

He knows that I HATE weddings and all the fuss and expense.  He also thinks wedding are excessive and silly.  He also knows I want to get married (someday) (soon).

I saw an awesome idea - a surprise wedding.  The guests are invited for any other sort of party and after they get there....  SURPRISE! We're getting married, right here, right now.  Neato.

So I'm sitting next to him with my computer out.  I pulled up an ehow.com article that had a brief overview of the idea.  SO read it.

Then....

He told me to print it out so we could find it later!  We almost NEVER print anything!

Woot!  I like where things are going.
