Epilim EC200/ DEPAKOTE (sodium valproate) whats your opinion?

Hi The doctor has suggested that I try taking Epilim EC200/ DEPAKOTE(sodium valproate)- just one at night to start with. Just looking for everyones opinion on it. What are the side effects? I am not currenlty on any meds.

Hi only-me! Just a note for everyone that Epilim is another brand name for DEPAKOTE.

Check out drugs.com for some of the best information on the web.

I don't think it is listed as a side effect in medication info, but I had stomach ulcers and was in a world of hurt. And it did NOTHING for my mood swings, which were very severe and rapid at the time.

Thanks for the reply and thanks for the product name - on this side of the world it is called Epilim, no wonder no one has heard of it.

I have tried to research a little on it, but not much info comes up (will try to look up DEPAKOTE and see if that works). My doctor has prescribed it so I can try to turn my head off so I can sleep. But I have read a couple of people who have taken it have been awake for 3 days straight. Going to give it a go and see what happens. Thanks again.
