Withdrawal symptoms?

I think I'm having withdrawal symptoms from going off Mirapex (Pramipexole) and Lexapro. I've spent much of the past two days in bed, sleeping, and I'm feeling very foggy. I've already been taking Hydroxyzine for nausea, so that's a help. And I already didn't have much of an appetite. But I'm just feelin' kinda weak and puny. I figure that, if my body seems to want to sleep--and boy, does it ever want to sleep--I'm gonna let it. I'm thankful that I had an enjoyable evening last evening!

Has anybody else ever gone off Mirapex/Pramipexole or Lexapro? Did you have any withdrawal symptoms?

What I read online talked about flu-like symptoms as being how the withdrawal symptoms from Lexapro might feel. I took my temperature last night, cos I was feeling really cold (unusual, given how hot it is here in Florida). My temperature was 95.5! Is that even POSSIBLE?? I mean, I'm still alive, and my temperature is that low.

Anyway, I'm still feeling really weak and exhausted, and I'm still taking Hydroxyzine as soon as I get up, to keep nausea at bay. I'm eating very little, other than a bit of cereal for breakfast, and canned soup for dinner. Lunch is usually slept through. I may go out today, despite feeling really nervous, and buy some frozen dinners or something. I just don't feel like cooking.

According to what I've read online at reputable sources, there don't seem to be any withdrawal symptoms for Mirapex/Pramipexole. It's just Lexapro that has the withdrawal symptoms. I am feeling truly lousy and sorry for myself. Sorry for whining.

Thank you so much for your kind note, Mogs! I admit that I haven't been drinking plenty of water, but I really should, shouldn't I, to keep flushing this crud out of my system? "This crud" being the Lexapro. I was so sure, when I went through drug withdrawal getting Effexor out of my system, that I wouldn't have to go through anything like this again. Well, I was wrong.

As far as I can tell, I'm not getting any withdrawal symptoms from the Mirapex. As a matter of fact, I'm now done with getting off the Mirapex. I have about two more weeks of getting off the Lexapro left; my pdoc is doing this slowly, which is probably a blessing. Of course, it prolongs the agony. But then again, if he were taking me off Lexapro all at once, THINK how bad it would be!

Is there anything you can do so that you can get your meds sooner? Can your pdoc give you samples? It's really dangerous to your health to be off your meds for so long.

Hi Nuts  , You were taking 70mgs of Lexapro???!!! I thought the max dose for Lexapro was 20mg. I've heard of people using up to 60 to 80mgs of Celexa, but never Lexapro.

And as far as comparing Lexapro withdrawl with Effexor, Lexapro works pretty much the same as Effexor, hence the same withdrawls. They are both potent SSRIs, with Effexor having some norepinephrine uptake inhibition. But it's the serotonin action of both drugs that causes the bad withdrawl problems.

I wish you both well in your quest to get off these meds, I know it's not easy.
