lexapro and bi polar disorder

Does anyone feel that you can take lexapro if you are bipolar?

Were you diagnosed bipolar before or after you started prednisone?

I've been diagnosed bipolar for a long, long time. Prednisone really didn't mix well with it.

my doctor will not let me take predsone for any reason. My you should ask the doctor about how this meds. affect your condiction.

I, too, am BP. Taking Lithium. 5- lb. weight gain and growing. No episodes lately but want alternative to lithium as the wieght is not good for my health or heart. Any suggestions any1?

Sorry I made an error in my post - its 3:50 in the moring. That was 50 lb, weight gain with the lithium. Help! I'm turning into one BIG BLOB!

I had to be on prednisone because I had a flare up of Ulcerative colitis.that was the only thing that stopped it. It was pretty horrible on prednisone. but i took zyprexa to stop the mood instability, it worked to a point.
