Hi! I'm usually in the UC forum but I came here b/c I have a friend that was diagnosed bi-polar back in September. From what I understand she was on medication and then stopped b/c it was making her too tired to do her job. Long story short...she was in the middle of a divorce, to make matters worse, and she was convinced her x-husband was abusing thier two children. I don't believe he is. They had a joint custody arangement and on one of her weekends that she had the kids she decided it was a good idea to take them and try to leave the country. Needless to say she didn't get far and has been it deep trouble (yes, jail) for 4 months now. Her parents have been trying to get her out of there, arguing that she needs treatment. Hearings keep getting cancelled...it's just dragging on and on.
Well here is the problem....she thinks she's fine and nothing is wrong with her and that she was just doing "God's will". She doesn't want help from anyone. Obviously she isn't making right decisions and this is very serious. I guess I just want to understand what she is feeling and why can't she see this is a really bad situation she's in. She needs to get out of jail and into treatment but I know she is going to fight it. No real questions here but if anyone can chime in to help me understand what she may be feeling I would greatly appriciate it.
