Okay, C-1980, but there are a couple of things I would like to add for helpful information:
1. Alcohol is inflammatory to the brain; it makes bipolar illness worse. Patients who are bipolar or depressed are often asked by their psychiatrists to remove alcohol from their diets because it does make both illnesses much worse.
2. Avoid anything that has caffeine in it. It makes depression and bipolar illness worse.
If you are able to make those two changes in your life you will be doing yourself a great favor.
Alcohol, like narcotics, kills brain cells. I need every one I've got; I don't know about
you, C-1980, but I think you would feel better without alcohol or caffeine in your life.
It is known now that bipolar illness is an inflammation of the brain. Doctors don't know yet why it happens, but they know that the use of aspirin will help somewhat in lowering the level of inflammation. It won't suffice as the only medication needed, but it can help. You need your psychiatrist's help with that. Some people have made remarkable success in reducing the symptoms of bipolar or depressive illness by changing their diets to a more alkaline state--see AlkalineFoods.com for types of food that need to be
included in your diet.
Take good care of yourself for better health.
Good wishes,
