Hi there,
Well, it's good to hear you care enough to look into it. I think it would be a good idea sitting down with them on one of their calmer days and just tell them all the positive things about them and how much you love them and care for them. (Lots of hugs and kisses in order). Then tell them it is because you care so much that you want to talk about their health so they can also feel better with themselves. Hopefully they will at least have a civil discussion with you. Just inform them you want to talk to them so you can help them help themselves. Maybe do some research about some meds and how it helps stabilize so many people. Maybe if they see that concrete evidence and see how much you care, they might consider taking the help. But if they do end up freaking out, please remember it is NOT your fault. Sometimes we cannot control our outburts and we say things we don't mean to our loved ones because of what we are experiencing. Just remember that if that happens, once they come down, they will realize their mistake and probably feel bad for treating you terribly. You just have to have patience. A LOT of it. I do not know if this will work for sure, as it is different for everybody, but through my own personal experience, it makes me feel a LOT better when my boyfriend is supportive and loving even when I am treating him terribly, because he knows that this is not the real me lashing out, it is my sickness. So just try to be strong and loving and you will both get through this. Feel free to let me know how it goes. Best of luck!
