seroquel and weight gain

I've been on seroquel for two years now, so that I can sleep and not go manic. Only in the process of taking it I've gained 60lbs. I want to stop but even slight alterations affect me. Are there any other meds out there that work without the weight gain?

Yes. Talk with your doctor. Weight gain is less common with seroqeul compared to something like Zyprexa, but even still there has to be something that has even less or hopefully no relation to weight gain. I take olanzapine which is infamous for making peole gain weight, however myself I am still skinny as a rake even after having been on and off of it for sometime now. If you take any anti depressants and ever need to change it up some people say wellbutrin makes them lose weight.
