I have just started transitioning from Seroquel to Saphris and have started getting RLS of a night before I drop off to sleep. Some nights it is pretty severe. I'm not sure if it is the Seroquel withdrawal causing it or a side effect of the Saphris, but I loathe the thought of putting up with this for the next few weeks while the Seroquel drops out of my system. If anyone has had this issue and found a solution, I'd be grateful if you'd share, thank you. Incidently my pdoc has said we will see if it is in fact the Seroquel or the Saphris, I'm hoping its the former and not the latter cause I am much happier and less dopey of a morning on the Saphris.

Hi Simone,
I'm sorry you're experiencing RLS. I've never taken those meds so I can't be of much help. I know there are other members who would of used those meds. They may post later on during the day.
However, I know a side effect of Saphris is restlessness and shakiness in the legs, arms, hands, or feet.
I hope you'll figure out what's causing the RLS.
Take Care

Thanks UA,
it looks like it may well have been the Seroquel withdrawal as I have come off it completely now and haven't had any RLS symptoms in the last couple of nights. My hands do tend to shake a bit on the Saphris, but not uncontrollably so I can handle that. I read up that low iron levels can cause it also, so I'll get my gp to check them the next time I see him.
Thanks again and have a lovely weekend!

Simone, I'm glad to hear that the RLS stopped. I hope the hand shaking that you're experiencing is nothing major.
Have a great weekend as well
