This afternoon for some reason i feel like im in a fog and weird. Just out of place, not depressed just feel weird like out of body. Maybe my low dosage (50mg) of lamictal getting into my body and adjusting? Like im still functioning but feeling like im just a robot. Any opinions with this feeling or possible temporary side effect?
Btw went fishing today in the morning with my dad on our boat for the first time this season! Tell you one thing im still on top of my game with fishing didnt miss a beat and we HAMMERED the bluefish. Up to 10 pounds and 30"!!. Tell you one thing temporarily i forgot about
all my problems during fishing, my favorite passion! Ill be posting pics of my sal***er fishing trips on long island throughout the summer for all you

i did not say that. efficacy levels. basically is there room to increase the medication in relation to the levels of the drug in your system. ps, just was indicating that regardless of circumstance we can still enjoy life. for me, i have after many years junked the term suffer and use manage instead. please this only refers to me and nothing to do with your post. basically just because we have bi-polar does not mean we can't or do not have good days. i was merely expressing this as a positive conduit to you. that's all.

you will feel a little that way with the increase. the dose you are on is very mild. i would recommend your doc regular / periodic bloods as increasing the lamictal to the best levels for optimum support is crucial with this med. once you are at the level you will stabilize. i am now on 600mg. not say you will, but an increase may be required. keep talking with ya doc. just trying to help. sorry for being abrupt, just trying to aide you with less suffering, if ya know what i mean.

this stuff is they're is really no negative long term side effects from this stuff ive found through my research

it is true. taken over 20 years to get the right combo. too many admissions, too many wrong meds, too many treatments, just bloody many!!!!!!! i have had zero side effects. and it also works well with other meds. it has knocked mania, agitation and a lot of chaotic thoughts on the head. i still see my shrink and therapist.; keep strong.

REDGLI2012, your finishing trip sounded very exciting. I'm glad you had a good time.
If you can, I would encourage you to go fishing again and continue doing things you enjoy since it seems to help you feel better.

USER thanks for the response. Fishing, bowling, weather and my VW family are my passions and aint nothing taking that from me! Went fishing again last night on a charter boat and was anxious and on edge, today i feel the same and agitated, and out of body. Called my pdoc and told her. Well, told her that i cold turkied the klonopin from .5mg to 0 for almost three days. Then next day started up (tuesday). Wednesday afternoon started feeling like this and into today. She said those are withdrawal symptoms. Thats why you CANNOT cold turkey any psych medication without a taper plan.
She said you have to be patient, told her the lamictal has been the best so far as ive been eating and sleeping, something i could NOT do on the three SSRI'S she tried on me. She said .5mg/daily of klonopin is not alot and when you get back to yourself weening yourself off would be easier than lets say someone taking 5mg+ because im taking such a low dose to begin with. STICKING IT OUT! THANKS FOR THE SUPPORT FOLKS

Took my .5mg klonopin this morning and 50mg of lamictal. Needed it because last night i had some hellacious graphic nightmares. Everytime i went back to sleep it was a nightmare. Is this something commonly experienced with bipolar disorder? Just was a afraid to go to sleep again and tonight im concerned as well. Woke up and was still panicking over the dream

i get the same dreams. more tripped out lately. try and relax as much before bed. they will pass. i don't think it is the disorder, just our consciounes spitting stuff out.

Day off went well, detailed my car inside and outside. As good as it could look with three stock tires and a spare till my custom wheels get here early june. Still got sunburn on my arms from sunday wearing NO sunblock which was stupid but for the first time looks like a rash. HIGHLY doubt its the dreaded Lamictal rash since it is only present around my burnt skin from fishing. Looked it up and dont have the serious symptoms around the face and neck/upper torso area. Will see what this looks like in a couple days, likely just got sun poisoning.
Away from that the past couple days ive had full meal days where ive been having three full meals and nausea is gone and GAINING weight again so thats good IMO.
Gonna be going fishing on our boat again sunday afternoon with my father for some more bluefish and striped bass. LOVE my fishing and ESPECIALLY CATCHING AND THE FIGHT. What an amazing natural high!

Bad news, had a rash from my arms, shoulder, chest and stomach. Called my psych doc this afternoon and instructed me to seize the dose immediately. I will be seeing her tommorow at 6 and exploring other Mood Stabilizer medications. Went to my regular doc today and when i took off my shirt and showed him he leaned against the wall and didnt say anything in disbelief, told him "doc you wanna not stand there thinking how your gonna say you have 6 months to live?" He laughed his butt off.
he took three vials of blood (will call if something serious tommorow or saturday) and told him im taking lamictal and concerned with stevens johnson syndrome, said if it was you'd feel like death like flu like so he diagnosed me with a drug reaction explosion. So like the saying goes! " back to square one folks!"
Still going fishing sunday afternoon still, aint nothing gonna stop me fishing!

TURTLE guess it was coincidental since the past week i feel the lamictal was losing its effectiveness and then this rash happened as delayed allergic reaction to the lamictal. Like i said bloodwork done yesterday and today ill be seeing my psych doc at 6 to discuss my next option

Past two weeks though ive got alot accomplished both regularly and lifetime achievements. A few weeks ago i bowled my first 800 series with a 269 279 and 279 for an 827 series that i get a crystal plaque for from the United States Bowling Congress. Also fishing season is in full swing again AND my new custom wheels should be here in a couple weeks. Got voted employee of the month at my job for march which as great too.
Lastly, me and my fiance will be looking at a wedding venue tommorow called fox hollow in westbury, NY so that will be quite the experience as well

I'm sorry you got the rash, that is scary as I just started lamotrigine and am scared of getting the rash, although it is very very rare you are the second person I've read here on the forums (other one was in the depression forum) that has gotten the rash, so now I'm super scared.
I hope everything works well for you, have your tried abilify? I'm on it although will be stopping it soon, but I've taken it for 5 years and it has worked well for me, maybe talk to your doctor about
it if you haven't tried it yet.
