My MIL has been diagnosed bipolar for a couple years now. She is rapid cycling and still struggling with her diagnosis and her meds.
I was speaking with her on the phone last night and she admitted she was currently feeling up. She talked for about 45 minutes before I finally had to get off the phone. She was tired, she had only gotten 2-3 hours of sleep the night before due to a TV watching and baking frenzy and kept drifting off while speaking to me.
My main concern was that she would suddenly start stringing together words that made no sense at all like "hey, how is little Sue doing in school? We're so proud of her, make sure she keeps that towel pulled all the way up!"
Is this something to be concerned about or is it a normal part of the mania and rapid thinking?
Thanks so much :)
