i suffer from bipolar 2 since i was a child 29 now,never had any periods of stabilityl mostly depressed with the odd high,been on many meds no good,stopped taking my meds recently bad mistake ended up in hospital got out recently hate that place.anyway started taking them again i take lithium  lamical olanzapine.the depression lately started lifting nothing unsual about that i have what i call bipolar depression when i am severly depressed and ok which to other people would be mod depression but to me thats normal anyway over the course of about 3 days  depression kept lifting and i started feeling quite good not high just good my energy levels felt fine racing thoughts i had under control my body felt normal anxiety still there but a lot better able to mix in crowds first time in years.my emotions and mood improved anger exitabilty etc was fine i had never felt like this before from what i can remember.unfortnalty only lasted for a few days then my mood etc started to change but at least i experienced what its like to be well but who knows it might happen again,i do get a little angry at some of my friends who complain about the smallest things not realising how lucky there are,i now realsise how bad i am the difference between how i normally fell and how i felt recenly is huge thanks gaz

hey gaz.... I remember when I first began taking meds again, I felt normal for a couple of days then afterwards I just dropped. Not as severe as I was without meds, but the difference still makes me wish I could just be stable and normal all the time. I envy alot of people in my life because they just seem to have it all together. I wonder for myself if I will ever see another normal day.

HI Gaz,
It takes time for the meds to truly take effect. Some of them take months. Don't give up yet. That normal period may just a preview of things to come.

Its good that you had that period of "feeling normal" even if it was short. My medicine has been helping me...Lamictal. I have felt a whole lot better compared to what I was but I am still having episodes. I am going through some extremely stressful situations in my life right now and I belive that is what is triggering episodes. I hope that once the stress reduces I will feel a whole lot better. Don't give up on your meds, keep taking them and eventually hopefully you will feel normal all the time!

what do you guys consider "normal" and a "normal day"?

To me normal is not feeling out of control. I am an extremely emotional and passionate person all the time...but I have reasons for my emotions. When I am having an episode I will either be extremely happy or extremely depressed...FOR NO REASON. My normal is being able to control my emotions and having real reasons to experience them.
