What happens during mania

Okay. Is it me or during mania, I tend to want to create or destroy something. Example: rip up carpeting to lay flooring, tear apart a room to re-clean it, paint, remodel, rake, anything to move! Does this occur for others as well?

oh gosh yes! I can't even begin to tell you how many times my house has been arranged and rearranged etc...I think it helps get the nervous energy out. At least thats what I am telling myself.

I'm in the processed of being diagnosed as BPII. My therapist says that I fit all the profile for it, but I have to wait until May 4 to see the Psych. Which is extremely frustrating. Thanks for the reply

Thats exactly what I have been diagnosed as along with other disorders...Good Luck at the doc, its bull you have to wait till May- can they put you on some kind of cancellation list?

Unfortunately the dr does not have a cancellation list. I have to call and bug every couple of days to see if someone cancelled. The only other alternative is hospitalization to get a regimine going quicker and I am really afraid to do that, but sometimes I think I should be there.

I;m bipolar 2 as well.    I had trouble with antidepressants (Zoloft-Paxil & Especially Effexor XR)----now--taking Seroquel-50 mg at nite--&......Neurontin 200 mg during day for mood stabilizer .............---- B N

(ignore the B N--I can't seem to delete it)----anyway--the meds in the beginning are "hit & miss"...trial & error.    Hope that helps---Robert
