Hello it's twiggy2, i have newly been prescribed Zoloft, has anyone been on this and how did they feel, i am starting at 50mg a day, i read on the net that i works on seritonin i also thought that is works in dopamine and norephinie maybe i misread and it was another type of med anyway let me know thanks twiggy2.

I did misunsderstand about zoloft it mainly works of seritonin, tri cyclic anti depressants work on seritonin dopamine and norephine, all spelt wrong anyway. but i still will try zoloft and read more about Twiggy2 as it is suppose to work for many things.twiggy2

Morning second day on Zoloft today i fell ill, sick to my stomach and threw up, i have read that one of the side effects from this med is uoset stomach so i am hoping that it will go away in couple more days. As for weepy i am a bit weepy again probably becuase of the meds but if it continues for more than a week i calling my pysch and maybe zoloft is not right for me, also to cipralex is leaving me as well so my body is trying to adjust. The next couple of days are going to be hell but i am going to take it easy as best as i can, even weepiness and all it is a good release to cry so as long as it doesn;t take control all day, i know that i can request my hubbt to take me to the hospital if i really need to. Anyway sorry for the rambling take care Twiggy2.

Hang in there hon. I hope it gets better for you. If not call your doc.

hello it's twiggy don;t know if im likeing zoloft to much. I have done alot of crying to much crying, i asked my hubby to call to pysch ward last not good. I know my body is getting adjusted to the meds but this is rediculis. Day three today not sure what to expect but if this crying thing continue i am going to the hopsital. I cry i mean sobing for like almost an hour and i have to stop my self cause i don;t even know what i'm crying about. Anyway thanks for hanging in there with me on this is will let you know how things go. Twiggy2

:-)  again twig, i want to say that the zoloft made me ill for a few days and i lowered my dose in half and have done that for the last two months. am going to raise it back up today.  however i never had the crying jags you are describing, it might not be the right one for you.

I.m not sure either but i still have to give it more time i guess. I not sure what the crying thing is all about. I feel a little better afterwards sometimes just releasing some tension possibly anyway take care and good luck with increasing, let me know how you do. Twiggy2.

Got my script for ativan tonight already took 2 and feelling a little better hands aren,'t shaking as much and my heart rate has slowed down a bit so i fell more relaxed a few more days and i should be ok. Back to work for three days and then home for four i get kinda bored but i am looking forward to doing things around the yard maybe going for a bike ride just chilling anyway take care all and i;ll keep in touch to let you know how things are going Twiggy2

How will i be tested for bi polar disorder it and how can i convince my pysch that i having racing thoughts not related to anxiety but is possible anyway Zoloft is okay still haven;t reaching the second full week yet so a while longer for the full benefits kick in

Actually tri cyclics works on seritonin and norephinephrine not dopomine my apologises for that anyway. Also to that i found out through the pharamacist that all the symptoms of mass headaches and vommiting were do to withdrawel from cipralex and not so much starting Zoloft. Anyway i have been prescribed Zyprexa suppose to be a mood stablizer and have been taking 2,5mg of that for 5 nights now and have not seen any real difference but i will continue taking for now until i see my doc on the 3r of July. I am feeling a bit better thanks to tylenol and such for pain relief. Anyway some of the headaches are from tension and side effects from meds which should soon go away if not my the 3rd i am going to request a new med for anxiety and depression i will find the combo. Hi Twiggy2 I am very new to the board and wanted to let you know it took me 2 weeks to get use to the zoloft and then I was fine but please what ever you do don't just stop taking it. My insurance ran out and so did my pills a few years back so I had  just stopped taking them , bad mood I became suicidal and almost succeded. I hope all goes well if not it might not be the drug for you, good luck.

Morning i am not about to stop taking Z unless i am prescribed something else, so far Zoloft just isn;t doing what i had hoped it would do, i does help a bit and i have been on i not for three weeks i still have some anxiety i went to see my pysch doc about that mood stabilzer thing and not sure about that either but i will not stop that either unless changed to somehthing else, my body goes through hell with withdrawels. I cannot convince my doc that i am under mild stress and need something stonger to help me, i have done some deep breathing exercises which helps a little, i have hand tremors and tense shoulder muscles that cause headaches, and a little jumpy at times, and chest pains from anxiety i am headed towards asking him to try wellbutrin xl or lepraxo something on the lines of an extended release formula that will help all day long but for now i have to wait until the 3rd and i have an appointment with a theropist on Mon and i can talk to him about what been happening with my moods and such, aslo i am going to seriouly make an effort to start an mood diary and sleep diary this will help me when i see these people as to meds changes and such so i can get better, thanks for your reply and nice to meet you and keep me posted as to how you are doing as i will with you Twiggy2

I think the mood and sleep diary are a fine idea Twiggy. Often docs can see patterns in those that are hard to explain to them sitting in their office. Never fails that I know exactly what I want to say but when I get there I forget it all or can't find the words to impart my meaning.

I to am kinda the same way i rehearse some of what i am going to dicuss during my appointment but by the time i get there i miss half of the stuff and most often talk about stuff other than anyway i think the diary will help with all that, take care and talk to ya later.Twiggy2

Hello my anxiety is trying to get me again not sure why, chest pains for three days crying off and on and hands are shaking something awful, the .05 of ativan is none effective for me anymore it does help a bit with the pain in the chest but that about it, i called my psych doc today to see if i could squeeze too see him but he was very busy today so i may get a phone call tommorow so we can hopefully get a stronger anti anxiety med or something almost tell him to put me in valium school is getting out soon for our children i think that is part of the reason my anxiety is a little up i love them dearly but they can be a real hand ful at times and i am not sure if i am going to be able to make through the entire summer without some help. I aslo am going to joining a group for people who suffer from anxiety and maybe that will help too also next week at my theropist appointment i am going to learn deep breathing exercises with that all said i should be on my way to lowering my anxiety but i could sure use some help while i am waiting,

Hello just wanted to check in and let you know i saw my pych doc today he told me to stop the Zyprexa as i wasn;t doing anything for me anyway and upped my dose of Zoloft and prescribed me clonazapam i will see him in 4 weeks and go from there. I hope that this does the trick along with theropy i will be well on my road to recovery, also to on a happ note my husband got a new permanent job today he starts on Mon after 6 months benefits and starts at 12 buck an hour, also to our cat had kittens last night they are so cute, things are finally starting to look very good for us right now and hope that the days keep getting better oh one more thing both of our children passed to the next grade. I hope that i haven;t bored anyone but i had to share the good news. Anyway gotta go for now i will keep posting to let you know how i make out over the next couple of weeks with the meds HUGES AND KISSES FROM TWIGGY.

So glad things are looking up for you hon. You've had so many challenges lately.
I've had a lot of luck with clonazapam. I think you may find it very helpful. I think stress triggers so many problems in our lives and it looks like your stress level just dropped dramaticly. I bet things are going to go much better for you now, emotionally as well.

I have a new kitten as well. She's about 9 weeks old now. I thought I was getting her for my 14 year old daughter but it turns out she's become the new pet of my mini doxie. They sleep all over each other, play together, even clean each other. Absolutely inseparable.

Thanks Ellie i hope so, the clonozapam has really helped a lot, i don;t have the anxiety as bad and my mind not racing as much which is awsome, however i am a bit sceptical about raising my Zoloft to a higher dose, he wants me to increase to 75mg for two weeks then to 100mgs until i see him again on the 17th of July. I will continue the regimin as prescribed and see what happens.I have an appointment with my regular family doc on the 29th the same day i get a halter monitor i am going to talk to him about helping me to smoking maybe a low dose of wellbutrin along with Zoloft with do the trick for a lot of things anyway any thought as to that idea would be helpful thanks gotta go for now just got in from work i am pooped. Evening although i believe that my anxieties have been greatly reduced i feel as if though that it may never compeltly go away but with meds it will help a great deal. At my next appointment with my theropist we are going to focus on deep breathing excercises which should also help reduce things even more, i may never be able t go off the meds i can accept that. Although i would like to not have to take them but it does make me feel better so i am not going to complain, the clono has removed most of the anxiety and racing mind thing which is great so when i see my psych in 4 weeks i am going to tell him and he will most likely prescribe more or even something stronger to see what happens, anyway i am going to stop gabbing for now and thank you all so much for reading my posts over the last couple of months i appreciate a great deal. I am a little unsure about the increase in the zoloft but i am going to follow through with it. Take care all and have a good night Twiggy2

Hello it's Twiggy2 first off i have a horrible cold, second i got the halter monitor put one today only have it for 24 hours which isn;t so bad saw my family doc today and he prescribed meds for the cold and something for acid reflux because on occasion i do have severe heart burn so he said that this will help, to top the whole thing off this is a biggy i have the starting of emphezema, i am calling my pysch doc tommorow to request that we switch to wellbutrin as soon as possible even if i do have to wait until my next apointment in july, i will do my best to cut down on the smoking as mouch as possible now that i know, my family doc said that i cannot combine Zoloft and wellbutrin together as it may cause me to have seizures so i will see what comes of tommorow. I do not want the emphezema to get worse. Does anyone know or have used wellbutrin to combat quiting smoking and can it be combined with Zoloft or other antidepressants i know have read that some people take lepraxo and wellbutrin. I would greatly appreciate some comments i may have to start from scratch with meds. today was the first day starting my 75mgs of Zoloft and did not really notice a difference it will take a while for my body to get adjusted to this dose now to but if we switch to wellbutrin then i can toss the Zoloft good thing it;s covered under our drug plan. Anyway that is my vent for the day thanks for anyone who takes the time to read this long post. Twiggy2 oh and still have anxiety go figure lol. thank goodness there is klonopin to help with that, maybe if we do switch to wellbutrin i may not need the klono anymore.
