Hi,
My brother's girlfriend of 4 years is BP. I'm not sure which form of it she has, but she is terribly hard to deal with at times. To tell you a little about her behavior...she gets uncontrollably angry very easily. She and my brother have gotten into sooooo many arguments that have ended with the cops being called that I have lost count. He has never hit her, but she has beat the heck out of him several times. Even to the point of hitting him in the face (nose) with an unopened beer bottle and breaking his nose. My brother is like 5'8" or 9" and she is as tall as him and although she isn't overweight she is twice his weight. I know my brother loves her, but I truly think that he is afraid of her. They are living together, she is pregnant and due to have the baby in July, and as far as I know she's not taking any meds. Anyway, getting to my question. Once she has the baby, I know the risk of getting the blues is like 50% higher for people who suffer with BP. So, how do we help her without her thinking that we are trying to push ourselves on her and the baby. Just a few weeks ago, she and my brother got into an argument and after an hour or so of not being to calm her down, he called our dad for support and she was screaming in the background and cussing like mad and saying that we were planning to take her baby from her which is not the case. I am terribly worried for the baby though. Is it possible for her to go into a rage after having the baby and do something harmful to the baby? I have 3 small boys and they get on her nerves very easily, so I'm scared of how she will react to a crying baby. My biggest fear is that she could shake the baby or something like that.
Please if anyone could just give me some advice I would greatly appreciate it. Sorry sooo long!
