What Do i Do? Real ******y MoMent

I feel so like, i dont even know. Frustrated, Upset, Angry, i dont know what to do.
Im on Lamictal (200mg) and on that alone..i dont know if its helping, been on this medication for 6 months now..

Im having issues everywhere, school, home, with the law, its everywhere.
I dont really know what the reason for this post was.

Shouldnt i be more stable while being on my medication?
Is it even working, i read somewhere that it needs to be taken with another bipolar treatment medication. I have a shrink i see (2morrow), nothing seems to work.

The fact that im a 17 year old living in the craziness of new york worsens it, i think..

Feel free to write anything, itll help me sleep at night, lol...thnx..

You want control of your life. You have no idea how important that is. You sound restless, keyed up, confused by your feelings. I fancy I can feel them as I read your post.

Smiler is right. You are 17 and you care about the course your life is taking. You are a perfect candidate for success in psychotherapy. I hope you'll seek it.

Now, I am only training to be a therapist with a Rogerian bent. I have a friend who is the age of some of my own grown children. She has been a meth addict, a cocaine addict, a heroine addict, an alcoholic and God knows what else BEFORE she was 18. I have treated her with what Rogers calls "constant positive regard." When I first knew her, she was still using some substances and she was going to make her 21st birthday her last. Just 6 months of what really would be therapy, if I were a therapist, I have watched her change her own life. She is off all drugs, even weed. She is no longer binge drinking. She has distanced herself from less than productive friendships and started to enjoy her life. She has a new job that she really loves. She is a changed person, and she definitely doesn't want her 21st to be her last birthday. She told me that this is because of me and in her own way, she said that it is because I accept her, care about her and have no strings attached. I only gave her what my therapist gave me and I know that changed my life, too.

Just know that always, we are here for you. I post a lot and my posts are long. I am on the computer most of everyday because I work at home, on the computer. I watch the board and if you post, I'll get to you as soon as I see it. You are not alone. You CAN change your life. You are on that first step, you want to change.

As my therapist says, it only takes one therapist to change a lightbulb, but the lightbulb has to want to change. You are a lightbulb who wants to change. This is so huge. Keep going!

oh btw I am 16 so I know even more where you are coming from =)
