Venting sorry

Before christmas break I was put into the hospital do to psychiatrist was worried about my new bad habbit.  They diagnosed me with bipolar but I don't know much of what's going on. Just that it's rapid cycle.  I thought I had it and it was o.k. to deal with because it wasn't for certain but now it's certain and i don't like it.  I'm acting like a child now.  They have me on Lithium and Rhisphadel (sp?) and I felt good in the hospital and now i'm low really low.  I want to start over in life again but I know I can't.  Then i have these stupid ideas of being reborn and all that second chance at life stuff.  There silly ideas and I don't like them but they stay in my head and wont stop.  I just was hopping if I vented I would feel better. 

How do you guys feel better when your not feeling good?

  I use to  have a horse.  Boy did her attitude match my own.  We kept her at the place we were renting when we moved to a different city.  There's no much grass and I don't think dear Sally would like that.  But I agree horses are amazing creatures and are so powerfull.  I'm the same with getting out.  I'll grumble at first but then I'll be thankful that I did.

  I'm working on my artwork and developing my stories. It's one good thing about having a big imagination.  I've been in a rut and I hate it because then I don't feel like drawing.  It's terriable.

i read a wide array of things, from theology and relingion to tectechno-thrillers and mysteries.  i'm reading robbin cook right now.  his book, "year of the intern" was a real eye-opener.  wow!  i've read every clancy and even some of the ones that just "borrowed" his name.  also read a lot of "lawyer" books, like perri o'shaughnessy.  i also ehnoy ken follet and john grisham.  i am also currently reading the tenack (jewish translation of the bible - old testament) and the mishna (jewish commentary on the tenack).  yes, i am jewish.

I retreat into my comfort zone, pj's, recliner and good TV or a book. I don't go outside or answer my door. I just be all alone. I love it. I try very hard not to stay there for too long though. I might end up staying there forever if I did. Also, like Allie said, please, please don't stop taking your meds! I have an aunt who will NOT take hers and she is and has been so out of control, for at least 10 years. She is why I was afraid when I was diagnosed with bipolar. I don't want to end up like her. I was diagnosed in Sept or Oct and they have been switching meds around to find out what the best cocktail is for me. I'm finally starting to feel a bit better. All I can say is hang on and things will gradually get better. BTW, when I post my own topics, you will notice that I don't take my own advise. I'm better at trying to help others than helping myself. I don't know why. Just a side note so several weeks later when I'm posting the same things you are now you don't go, "Wow, she can't take her own advise." I know it, it's kinda sad, LOL! I try though. I hope thins has helped. I also tend to ramble...k, I'm done now. Hope I made you smile.

being at pease is on of the most overlooked healing techniques.  as a japanese, kim, i would have thought that you knew that.  i learned it when i was living in england and got into natural health.  i actually found it by accident when i was a teenager.  i would go into the absement and play my guitar.  haven't done that in 45 yrs. 

my wife and i buy used boks or go to the library.  saves a  lot of $ over new books.

when i was living in germany a dear old friend of mine, who died a few yrs ago, once told me, "boy, a time will come when you'll find that a good bm is better than sex."

i was a young man, in my 20s, and just couldn't believe it!  i was dumbfounded!!  a good bm better than sex?  he must be smoking those cigarettes with no names on them.

i told my friend, "gunther, you're wrong.  there's nothing better than sex."

he looked at me with his rumey eyes and smiled.  "let's say that you were on the desert and hadn't had any water for three days.  you come to an oasis with as much water as you could ever want.  and raquel welch (yes this ws a long time ago ) was laying there naked, panting for you.  what would you do?"

i had to really think about this one.  finally i said, "gunther, i guess i'd take the water first then get on with ms welch."

"ah," he said.  you found something better than sex!

i've spent about 40 yrs making my list.

my bar mitsva was 47 yrs ago.  how many of you were even born then?     i can hardly remember the prayers and can barely remember enough hebrew to read the tenack (jewish version of the bible - old testament for my christian friends).  last summer i found a jewish community in a city not far from where we are in alabama.  i went to schul (church) for the first time in about 20 yrs.  i was shocked and relieved when a bolt of lightning didn't distroy the santuary with me in it. 

oh, yeah.  and we all have a lot to learn.  isn't that why we're here?
