nev,
thank you for those kind words.
there is one thing that you said in your post which really upsets me. it's amazing how a rumor can become gospel. i am a child of the 60s - you know where ethe girls burned their bras and us guys were glad for it? at any rate, we were also the first drug generation. if johnson could lie about viet nam, what's to make us believe him about drugs? so many of us smo9ked grass and a few of my generation (not me) dropped acid. i still remember dr timothy leary, the guru of acid, and what acid did to his career and his life. really sad. he was once a brilliant scientist.
at any rae, about acid. the powers that were felt threatened and began an all-out campaign to stomp out drugs in the college community. they were reluctant to have mass jailings because that would upset good voting and vcontributing mommy and daddy. so they came up with "scientific evidence" to discredit drugs. one of these was that acid alters dna and can cause birth defects and permanent genetic problems. it wasn't until (i think it was) the 90s that freedom of information queries discovered what the rest of us knew. the people in washington are all liers and crooks. when the revolution comes, they will be the second against the wall - after attorneys.
no, it is highly unlikely for a single use of this parti8cular drug to cause the symptoms that you described. i believe only meth can cause immediate addiction - but this is hear-say - i've never been interested enough to investgate it.
hope this helps. hope your friend is getting better. give him/her our best.
