Eye Twitches

I've mentioned this to my Pdoc at a previous appointment and was told it was just a side effect.  No big deal.  Still, this is making me crazy.  It goes away for days at a time and then returns to torment me for a day or two.  It isn't obvious, nothing so severe that someone else would notice it, just annoying.  VERY annoying.

I've been told this is a fairly common side effect with some of the aaps.  Abilify being a major culprit.  I've been on 20 mg of the stuff for quite some time now.  I'm mostly pleased with the results, just bothered by this eye thing.

Has anyone else had problems with this?  Any ideas on how to make it stop?

Okay, I am going to make a suggestion...I HAVE NO IDEA IF IT WILL WORK! So, you can try and report. I have always believed that a hot/warm moist compress (take a wash cloth saturate it with hot water - then ring it out well) for 5 minutes on the eyes, followed by the cool compress of one of those gel eye masks you can refrigerate have been helpful for the spasms of headaches. When a bad one hits, I can go back and forth for a half hour or so, and it seems to help me. They say that it is excellent for circulation and stimulation. SO...my idea would be to try this when it happens, and see if it doesn't calm it down. Perhaps just the hot/warm for 5 and the cool for 5 once would be enough to ease it for several hours at a time perhaps? Good luck, and if nothing else, it sure feels good! LFW
